AVOID SUMMER LEARNING LOSS
From OnlineCollege.org Staff Writers “PARENTS PLAY A KEY ROLE IN FILLING IN THE GAPS OVER THE SUMMER
When it comes to helping stanch summer learning loss, parents have a key role to play. Learning loss is much less pronounced, if there at all, in families that enrolled children in classes, took trips to local libraries, participated in reading programs, or took advantage of other learning opportunities.”- 2013 www.onlinecollege.org

SPRK is proud to continue the summer tradition of mosaics with local artist Eddie Spaghetti.
New for 2016:
As part of The Tile Project at LOI 2016 summer camp, students will design and create mosaic tiles that will reflect Fairmont communi-ty values. These square tiles will be installed on the concrete steps on Merchant Street that lead to Palatine Park.
Stairs represent powerful symbolism including transition, change, and personal growth. Under the direction of local artist Eddie Maier, area children registered in the camp will complete tile designs that encompass ideas from the 4Fairmont Bridge Pillar: encouraging com-munity pride [through artwork] and empowering youth to create the “Fairmont of the future”.
THE TILE PROJECT
