To help you do this, we have designed the Hydro-Rain Sprinkler Catch Cups and the Hydro–Rain Watering Schedule application. The starting point for a successful sprinkler system is a great initial design. Great design needs to be complemented by great equipment. Finally, the sprinkler system needs to be well-maintained with compatible, consistent equipment. Hydro–Rain Sprinkler Catch Cups and the Hydro–Rain Watering Schedule application are the best way for you to check the quality of your system design, equipment and maintenance, and to set your sprinkler timer to deliver the right amount of water at the right time. ASSEMBLY Remove cups, rings and stakes from package. Slide each ring on to top of stake. The stake pushes into the ground and the cup sits in the ring. USING THE CATCH CUPS Step 1: Run a short test cycle for each sprinkler zone (“station”) and visually observe the following: • Each sprinkler head is standing straight up and is not blocked by surrounding grass or bushes • Each sprinkler nozzle is free from clogs and debris and is producing an even pattern • Spray from each sprinkler head reaches all the way to the head(s) next to it As necessary, adjust heads and nozzles so that they conform to the above conditions. Hint: Avoid performing a catch cup test when winds are above 10 miles per hour, as wind will skew the results. Step 2: Draw a rough map of your property. Indicate the location of each sprinkler head. Indicate the station number that controls the sprinkler heads in each area, for example: Step 3: Place catch cups and stands in Station 1 area. Place one catch cup two feet away from each head. Important: Spray from the sprinkler head should not hit the side of the catch cup. Place one catch cup halfway between sprinkler heads. The catch cup placement should be similar to the following: Step 4: Run Station 1 for 10 minutes. Check water level in each cup. If more than a few cups are below 25ml, run the test for another 10 minutes and note on map that you ran Station 1 for 20 minutes. Important: If an area is watered by more than one station (as in example below where Station 3 sprinklers overlap Station 2 area), run each overlapping station for 10 minutes. Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each station on the system, making sure to empty the catch cups after completing testing for each station. Step 6: When testing is complete, wipe dry each cup to prevent formation of rust and calcium deposits. Store cups away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration. En Hydro–Rain nos agrada ver el césped verde y las plantas y árboles saludables. Sabemos que a usted también. Para contribuir a lograr esto, hemos diseñado las vasijas recolectoras de los aspersores Hydro–Rain y la aplicación Programación del sistema de aspersores Hydro–Rain.

El punto de partida de un sistema de aspersores eficaz es un diseño inicial adecuado. El diseño adecuado debe estar complementado por un equipo estupendo. Finalmente, el sistema de aspersores debe recibir un buen mantenimiento con equipo compatible y confiable. Las vasijas recolectoras para aspersores Hydro–Rain y la aplicación Programación del Sistema de aspersores Hydro–Rain son la mejor forma para que usted compruebe la calidad del diseño de su sistema, el equipo y el mantenimiento y para configurar el temporizador de su aspersor para que brinde la cantidad adecuada de agua a las horas adecuadas.

ENSAMBLAJE

Retire las vasijas, los aros y las estacas del empaque. Coloque cada aro sobre la parte superior de la estaca. La estaca se introduce en la tierra y la vasija queda sobre el aro.

CÓMO UTILIZAR LAS VASIJAS RECOLECTORAS

Paso 1: Haga un ciclo de prueba corto con cada zona de aspersor (“estación”) y observe visualmente lo siguiente:

• Que cada cabezal de aspersor esté recto y no esté bloqueado por hierba o arbustos

• Que cada boquilla del aspersor no esté obstruida ni tenga desechos y produzca un patrón uniforme

• Que el rocío de cada cabezal de aspersor llegue hasta el(los) cabezal(es) próximo(s) a él

Ajuste los cabezales y las boquillas según sea necesario para que se conformen a las condiciones anteriormente indicadas. Consejo útil: Evite efectuar una prueba de vasija recolectora cuando la velocidad del viento sea superior a 10 millas (16 km) por hora, ya que el viento distorsiona los resultados.

Paso 2: Dibuje un mapa general de su propiedad. Indique la ubicación de cada cabezal de aspersor. Indique el número de la estación que controla los cabezales del aspersor en cada área, por ejemplo:

Paso 3: Coloque vasijas recolectoras y estacas en el área de la estación 1. Coloque una vasija recolectora a dos pies (61 cm) de cada cabezal. Importante: el rocío del cabezal de aspersor no debe llegar al costado de la vasija recolectora. Coloque una vasija recolectora a la mitad del trayecto entre los cabezales de los aspersores. La ubicación de la vasija debe ser similar a lo siguiente:

Paso 4: Active la estación 1 durante 10 minutos. Revise el nivel de agua de cada vasija. Si solo unas cuantas tienen menos de 25 ml, haga la prueba durante otros 10 minutos y anote en el mapa que activó la estación 1 durante 20 minutos.

Importante: Si un área recibe el riego de más de una estación (como en el ejemplo de más abajo donde los aspersores de la estación 3 se superponen en el área de la estación 2), active cada estación superpuesta durante 10 minutos como se ilustra:

Paso 5: Repita los pasos 3 y 4 para cada estación del sistema, cerciorándose de vaciar las vasijas recolectoras después de finalizar la prueba de cada estación.

Paso 6: Cuando finalice la prueba, seque cada vasija para evitar la formación de depósitos de óxido y calcio. Guarde las vasijas fuera de la luz solar directa para evitar la descoloración.

CÓMO UTILIZAR LOS DATOS RECOPILADOS

Comenzando con la estación 1, ingrese los datos de todas las estaciones en la aplicación de Programación del sistema de aspersores Hydro–Rain (http://irrigationaudit.hydrorain.com/get-started/). Los resultados incluirán:

• Eficacia general del sistema (en una escala de 0-100, la calidad de riego de cada zona)
