The weather is getting better, the days are getting
longer, which means there is more time for
volunteering!
Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your
community and give something back and to make a
difference to the people around you. It also
provides an opportunity to develop your skills and ex-
perience to get into further or higher education and
into employment. It’s also a great way to meet new
people and through the Saltire Awards scheme, you
can also be rewarded for giving up your time.

Lifeskills Assistant
RAMH
Lifeskills is a valued RAMH
project which collects furniture, white goods. vintage, collectables and tex-
tiles. Lifeskills help people who are moving into a new home after homeless-
ness or being in hospital by providing them with good value furniture.
RAMH are looking for someone to assist them with preparing products and
evaluating their quality for resale. This will also involve general retail duties
such as serving customers, operating the till and creating visual displays.
Lifeskills deals with lots of different kinds of stock.
The volunteer should be able to commit to one shift per week. RAMH will
give training and all volunteers must have empathy and understanding to-
wards the RAMH client base and all volunteers must be disclosed as RAMH
are guided by Scottish Social Services Guidelines . This would suit someone
who is looking to develop a career in retail, the charity sector or in social
work or social care.
Age limit: 18+
Renfrewshire Wide Credit Union
Marketing Assistant
Renfrewshire Wide Credit Union is an organisation that increases financial in-
clusion by providing savings, affordable credit and money management ser-
vices which are ethical and accessible to all members of the community.
They are looking for a volunteer with a strong interest in marketing and pro-
motions to assist them in reaching out to a
younger client base.
The position will involve assisting the marketing officer in producing digital
marketing content, raising awareness of RWCU services and learning about
consumer analytics.
The successful volunteer should have excellent knowledge of social media,
an interest in marketing and promotions, great ICT skills and some knowledge
of Word and Excel. Some experience of public speaking would also be bene-
ficial.
This role would suit anyone who is interested in a career in business, marketing
and promotions.

Renfrewshire Leisure
Activity Camp Volunteer
Renfrewshire Leisure provide sports and leisure facilities and
opportunities to people across Renfrewshire. They are seeking
volunteers for their Easter Activity Camps.
Volunteers will assist the coaches in delivering sports activities to children, su-
pervise the children and assist the children throughout the day. Volunteers will
be required from 9.30 am—3.30pm from Monday—Friday and in return for this,
volunteers will be given a year’s free gym pass or offered a swim teacher or
lifeguard course.
This would be a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in
pursuing a career in the leisure industry or working with children.

Paisley South Housing Association
Management Committee Member
Paisley South Housing Association is a social housing provider based in the
south of Paisley. They are looking for volunteers to sit on their
management committee.
Volunteers will be required to make decisions on the direction of the organi-
sation, read papers and make a contribution to meetings. Meetings last from
6.30pm to 9.00pm on the last Monday of each month. Volunteers are re-
quired to have an interest in the work of the Association, be able to work in a
team and work together with other Committee members for the best inter-
ests of the Association.
No previous experience required although it would be helpful if you have vol-
unteered before.
This opportunity would suit someone who has an interest in pursuing a career
in social housing or law.

Active Communities
Community Health champions
Active Communities are based in Paisley and deliver and support physical
activity, community sport and health and wellbeing across Renfrewshire.
They are looking for volunteers to help in their area. Volunteers would work
with Active Communities to help people in their area enjoy healthier lives by
raising awareness of health and healthy choices, sharing health messages
and helping to promote local groups and activities.
Volunteers require a willingness to join in, an interest in health and well being
and a couple of spare hours a week. Active Communities will train volun-
teers and will cover expenses.

Erksine
Ideal Home Show Fundraising
Assistant
Erskine is Scotland’s biggest veteran’s charity which provides nursing and
medical care for former members of the armed forces.
They are looking for volunteers to assist at the upcoming Ideal Home Show
who will join in bucket collections, leaflet hand outs and staffing the display
garden and plant market. Volunteers will be customer facing and required to
hand out stickers to donors and direct them to the show garden.
Volunteers should be sociable, personable, enthusiastic and trustworthy.
Volunteers will be required for two hour shifts between 10am—6pm from Fri-
day 27th May—Monday 30th May.

Renfrewshire Carer’s Centre
Volunteer Befrienders
Renfrewshire Carers Centre is a one stop shop for carers whose aims are to
support carers in their caring role and provide them with opportunities to
have a life outside of caring through a range of high quality services.
They are looking for volunteers to provide support and
companionship and relieve isolation of older people, people with learning
disabilities, children and young adults.
Training will be provided to volunteers. This opportunity would suit someone
who is interested in pursuing a career in social work or
social care.

Flexicare
ROLE : ADULT ACTIVITY GROUP VOLUNTEER
Flexicare are looking for enthuiastic volunteers to provide support to adults
with a Learning Disability or Autism in a social and leisure setting. Their groups
are made up of volunteers who
motivate and encourage members to participate in a range of social and
leisure activities.
Each group plans their own programme of activities including sports, crafts,
music and quiz nights. Evenings out to the cinema, bowling and going for a
meal.
Volunteers have all expenses for outings reimbursed.
This opportunity would be ideal for someone who is looking for a
career in social work or social care.

Renfrew YMCA
Volunteer Youth Worker
Renfrew YMCA SCIO works with children and young people aged from 5
years old to 24 years old though early intervention projects and service pro-
vision for community issues. They are looking for volunteers: To organise, Plan
and deliver issue based youth work in Renfrew, to work directly with young
people through centre based outreach and group work sessions
To support young people through school, and encourage them in the life
decisions and to run and organise group sessions and fully co-operate with
the youg people and staff.
Volunteers should:
Have a passion for youth work,
Confidence both in self and in a team to lead and give over good ideas
Have experience in group work, and group sessions
Be confident in leading sessions and being organise, plan and carry out ses-
sions

Capability Scotland campaigns with, and provides education, employment
and care services for disabled children and adults across Scotland.
They are looking for volunteers To assist in supporting adults with disabilities
to access healthy lifestyle activities. Volunteers will be working with clients
with disabilities and assisting them with health and lifestyle activities such as
sports.
This would be a great opportunity for someone with an interest in healthy
lifestyles and great people skills along with
commitment and an understanding of disabilities.

Environmental Training Team

Renfrewshire Council
Town Centre Events
Renfrewshire Council are looking for periodic volunteers to assist them in
organising town centre events. In the months leading up to the UK City of
Culture 2021 Bid, there will be lots more events happening in Paisley Town
Centre.
These will include various
duties including data collection, merchandise distribution,
marketing, event information and event direction.
The next event will be the Paisley Beer and Food Festival on 22—23 April.
Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park
Volunteers
Clyde Muirshiel is Scotland’s largest Regional Park. It is an area of diverse
beauty where lots of different activities can be
enjoyed.
They are looking for volunteers to assist with the running of the park. This is a
great way to learn new skills, get fit, and meet new people whilst helping to
enhance the wildlife and natural beauty of the regional park.
You will get the chance to take part in a variety of conservation projects.
Past projects have included tree planting, removing rhododendron, path
work and maintenance and wildlife surveys.
No experience is required as their ranger teams will provide training and sup-
port. They will also provide tools and gloves.
