False Creek Community Association Presidents’ Message

The False Creek Community Association is a not-for-profit organization that relies on the commitment and effort of volunteers. At the Annual General Meeting in May, the Board for 2019 - 2020 will be elected and this group will establish a long-range strategic plan designed to expand program offerings for youth, adults, and seniors. If you are interested in serving your community consider joining a committee or running for the Board, we welcome inquires at our front desk or by email to [email protected].

As the days get longer and the sun comes out to play, we hope you join us at our exciting outdoor events. The Canada Day celebration is fun for all ages and offers games, entertainment, and BBQ. The Granville Island Waterpark opens from Victoria Day long weekend to Labour Day, so grab your bathing suit and have a splash at the biggest free water park in North America. Our licensed day camps combine exciting trips, sports, games and other events for children - be sure to sign up soon, space is limited!

This year the Fitness Centre will see an upgrade, and while we will replace some old equipment with new it will remain a positive and welcoming environment for patrons of all abilities. If you have a meeting to host or an event to celebrate, we rent spaces of various shapes and sizes. The Summer Tennis program will be back too, so whether you are beginner or novice, Gord will help you take your game to the next level.

I hope to see you at the False Creek Community Centre!

Living in Vancouver, we too could be faced with an earthquake - yet few of us take the steps to ensure we are prepared. This session will ensure you and your pets are prepared.
