! Parent Safety Patrol Monitor Opportunity! We are seeking for 6-10 parents who want to be involved in student

safety, increasing school safety and positively shaping our school parking lot culture. Volunteer times needed: Drop off time: 7:40-8:00 AM (20 minutes) and/or pick-up time: 2:40-3:00 PM (20 minutes). Training and a red, parent safety vest are provided. ! PTSA Spring Book Fair- February 5th-9th. Paws for books! Come! Stay! Read a great tale! o Monday, February 5th Only after school (Closed in the AM for teacher preview, Open 2:45-3:30 PM) o Tuesday, February 6th Before and after school (7:30-7:55 AM & 2:45-3:30 PM) o Wednesday, February 7th Before and after school (7:30-7:55 AM & 2:45-3:30 PM) o Thursday, February 8th Before and after school (7:30-7:55 AM & 12:00-7:00 PM during conferences) o Friday, February 9th Before and after school (7:30-7:55 AM & 12:00-3:00 PM- half day)

! Monthly PTSA General Meeting! –Wednesday, February 7th at 4:30 PM in the library. All welcome!

! Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences- Thursday & Friday, February 8th & 9th. Dismissal at 12:00 PM. o Our teachers will continue to use PTCFast.com to schedule parent/teacher conferences. o Teachers sent parents a code to sign-up via email or sent home a paper copy with the code.

! Tech Trot Fundraiser- Ends Friday, February 9th. Our PTSA is partnering with the school in an additional fundraiser. Our Spell-A-Thon fundraiser collected funds to complete our paved track but the school is still in need of a mobile Chromebook lab and charging cart. AzMERIT state testing is completed online now and we require more laptops (our Mac laptops are not compatible with AzMERIT testing).

o Students will run/walk laps on our new track at regular recess, lunch recess and before & after school each day. Students collect pledges based on personal lap goals or a flat contribution. Pledges are due by Monday, February 12th.

o Students that raise $100 or more in pledges will be in a grade-level drawing to be Principal for the Day! (6 total winners)

o A detailed flyer and pledge sheet is posted on our website.

! PTSA Valentine’s Day Notes & Carnations- Ends Monday, February 12th Send a special note to your child, a teacher, or a friend! Parents and students may purchase a note to be delivered on Wednesday, February 14th. o Note & Carnation is $1.50 OR send just a note for only .50¢ o Notes and carnations will be on sale until 4 PM Monday, February 12th. o Order forms sent home with every child on Friday, February 2ndon pink card stock OR

pick up an order form in the front office. o Please send cash or make checks payable to SVE PTSA o Carnation quantity is limited o If you are interested in helping with organization and delivery, please contact our volunteer coordinator,

! Vail Pride Day- Weaving Our Legacy!- Saturday, February 17th from 9:00-4:30 PM at the Pima County Fairgrounds. Join us on this day of celebration and experience the Vail School District’s mission statement in action: “Vail School District- Where Education is a Community Effort”. Don’t miss out on all of the wonderful food, fun and festivities!

! 2nd Grade Field Trip- Wednesday, February 21st Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium from 8:30-1:00 PM.

! Kindergarten Roundup- Wednesday, March 7th from 8:15-9:45 AM in the MPR. You are invited to register your child for kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year, if you live in the Senita Valley Elementary School attendance boundary (Mesquite Ranch, Sierra Morado, & Civano Community) and if your child will be 5 before September 1, 2018.

o Online registration will occur Wednesday, March 21 (7:00-3:00 PM) or Thursday, March 22 (11:00-7:00 PM) o A detailed flyer has been emailed and posted on our website.
