School SafetySchool Safety• A critical incident response exercise (CIRE) will

take place on Fri., Sept. 26th at SGAMS.

• CIRE is a collaborative drill with Northern York Co. Regional Police Dept., South West PD, local 1st responders and the SGASD.

• Although this drill is taking place at the MS, it will minimally affect other schools in the district, as emergency notification/communication systems are tested within the district.

• All SG Schools will go into a brief lockdown as we do for our typical drills.

• Roads closest to the MS will be closed by the police for a short period of time.

Page 48: SPRING GROVE AREA HIGH SCHOOL 9 th Grade / New Student Orientation 2014-2015

CIRE DrillCIRE Drill• The stretch of Roth’s Church Rd closest to our campus will

be limited to passing traffic as we practice connecting students and parents from the MS who have volunteered to assist with the reunification process.

• Travel to and from the campus during this time will be temporarily limited and permitted only at the discretion of the police force assisting the drill.  We recommend that community members avoid travelling near the SG campus during the morning hours of Fri., Sept. 26th.

• NYCRPD plans to post temporary road closure signs alerting the community to the critical incident response exercise closer to the late September date. SGASD will communicate reminders  as the CIRE date approaches.  Basic CIRE information will be posted on our website.
