$5.00 registration fee per class in Gymnastics, Kid Fit, and Recreational Dance.

ATTENDANCE: Please report all absences to [email protected] Two consecutive missed classes without notification, or a total of six abscences in a session, will result in disenrollment from the class without refund. Make-up classes will only be offered when a doctor’s note is provided.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS/TRANSFER/REFUNDS:Transfers to other youth programs classes is permitted if the class has availability. Refunds of class fees due to cancellation or disenrollment are not given, however, transfer of fees towards another class in

PARENT DROP OFF AND PICK-UP:Children under the age of 10 MUST have a parent drop off and pick up from class unless child is checked into Kids’ club.

Parents of children 9 and under, MUST remain in the building for the duration of their child’s class.

Parents are NOT permitted in any classes, unless it is a parent participation class.

DIAPER POLICY:Any child still in a diaper, must have a parent/guardian present outside the class during its entirety.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS YOUTH PROGRAMMING AT THE NAC? The Youth Plex is designed to offer programs for children ages 1 through 16. Youth Programs can accommodate the various interests of children in the areas of gymnastics, dance, and fitness. Our goal is for every child to feel welcome in a safe environment where he/she can participate in activities where they feel comfortable enough to be themselves.

DO I NEED A CERTAIN TYPE OF NAC MEMBERSHIP FOR MY CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN YOUTH PROGRAMS?To achieve the best value, the Family Membership with Plus Programs is recommended for participating in classes.

Non-members may pay the corresponding fees for the general public to participate in a class.

HOW DO I ENROLL MY CHILD INTO YOUTH PROGRAMS CLASSES?NAC Family Members with Plus Programs can register prior to the start of each session in person at the programs desk, online, or on the NAC App. Non Family Plus Programs Members, and General Public will be able to register in person at the Programs Desk one week after Family Plus Programs Registration.

ATTIRE A leotard is suitable attire for girls and a t-shirt tucked into elastic shorts is perfect for boys or girls. Absolutely no jeans or clothing with buttons, zippers, or beading are permitted. There is no

jewelry permitted. Hair must be tied back and securely fastened with an elastic, no clips or bows that will inhibit any rolling activities. Also no shoes or socks, some equipment can be slippery.

Gymnastics

TINY TUMBLES WITH MY PAL! PLUS PLAYTIME!! This is a part instructional, part exploration class that introduces young ones to the very basic skills and concepts of gymnastics. This is a parent participation class and parents must remain with their child at all times. We ask parents to support and encourage their child to engage in all structured rotations. Children will receive the opportunity to explore and have fun in free play of the gymnastics studio with their caretaker at the end of each class.

BITTY BOUNCERS & PRE-GYM This class is designed for toddlers through kindergartners to become more independent from their parents. Watch your child go from cartwheels to confidence with lots of laughter along the way. This helps your child channel their energy and reach developmental skills in a structured setting.

BEGINNERS This class develops basic gymnastics skills and competence. Your child will focus on form and body positions while building confidence and improving social skills. Gymnasts will move to the next level when evaluated and recommended by the instructor.

INTERMEDIATE This class is designed for gymnasts that have prior gymnastics training. The gymnast should be comfortable with basic positions and skills and have a fundamental understanding of each piece of equipment. Gymnasts will continue to train basic skills while adding difficulty to their mastered skills. *Prerequisites are at least 2 completed beginner sessions, forward roll on floor without hands, bridge head off floor, strong front support on bars and cartwheel.

ADVANCEDThis class is designed for gymnasts who show great development in strength and flexibility, enabling them to master basic skills.*Prerequisites are a backward roll, handstand on the floor, unassisted pull over on bars, ¼ handstands on beam and cartwheel.TUMBLING

The tumbling program is designed for gymnasts who are interested in improving their tumbling skills on the floor and tumble track. Your child will work on basic floor skills to continue strengthening their bodies.

NINJA NASTICS (LIL’ NINJAS, MINI NINJAS, & NINJAS)CALLING ALL NINJA WARRIORS! Test your strength with challenging obstacles, build up endurance with competitive speed races, and increase overall body awareness with new courses each week!

GYMAGINE A unique opportunity for your gymnast to create and perform gymnastics routines on the balance beam and floor. It won’t be all work and no play...children will have opportunities on the tumble track too!

BOYZ TOUGH & TUMBLEBoys Only!! Boys will increase body strength, improve core balance, and overall flexibility while learning the fundamentals of gymnastics tumbling. Boys will use the Trampoline Tumbl Trak and the floor exercise to perfect and perform gymnastics skills such as forward rolls, cartwheels, and handsprings. The class curriculum will be modified for beginners and intermediately skilled young men.

IT’S PLAY TIME!! Parents will have the opportunity to play and explore the Gymnastics studio with their little ones. Parents MUST remain with their child at all times. An instructor will not be present.

GYMNASTICS EXHIBITION TEAMThe NAC Exhibition Team is a non-competitive gymnastics program for children that wish to develop gymnastics skills in more depth than offered through the recreational program. Exhibition gymnastics is a sport that focuses on improving an individual’s balance, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Exhibition team gymnasts receive skill building, conditioning, and routine training on four gymnastics apparatus; vault, uneven bars, balance, and floor exercise. Throughout the year, exhibition gymnasts will work to develop higher-level skills and routines to perform at various showcases. A non-scored mock gymnastics competition is held at the end of every season where the gymnasts will perform full routines on each of the gymnastics apparatus for family and friends. Exhibition Team Gymnasts, ages 6 years and older, have the opportunity to practice 1, 2 or 3 times a week for an hour and a half. PRIVATE LESSONS Perfect your pirouette with your favorite dance instructor, learn specialized sports techniques with skilled coaches, or achieve that desired tumbling skill with your favorite gymnastics instructors. ATTIRE Please refer to our specific dress code on the NAC website. All students should come dressed

to dance in movable clothing (i.e. no jeans or skirts without shorts/leotard underneath)

and proper dance shoes (NO flip flops, open-toed sandals, or boots permitted).

Dance

Our Dance Program offers classes in both Studio Dance and Recreational Dance. The Studio Dance classes run continuously from September till the end of May, and participants will perform in a recital held the first weekend of June. The Recreational Dance classes change with every youth programs session, and students must re-register each session.

ME AND MY SHADOW (RECREATION)This class is designed for the littlest of movers and their caregiver to participate together throughout the class. Students will develop basic motor skills while exploring exciting activities and utilizing a variety of props. They will be introduced to the world of dance in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.* Children must be walking in order to participate.

KIDS IN MOTION (RECREATION) Children are presented with a variety of ways to move in a fun, imaginative way. This class works to develop basic movement skills utilized in dance such as jumping, kicking, marching, and tip-toeing to the beat of kid friendly songs.

KIDZ BOP HIP HOP/EASY BREEZY HIP-HOP (RECREATION)This class is an introduction to various hip hop and basic movement styles for the younger dancer. Students will be exposed to the basics of hip hop techniques and movement while developing rhythm, strength, and coordination.

PRE-BALLET/TAP (STUDIO)This class is an introduction to the elements of ballet and tap technique for our youngest dancers. Students will be exposed to the basic terminology and movement of each style in a fun, nurturing environment through various creative center and across the floor activities.

BALLET/TAP (STUDIO)This class continues the introductory process of the elements of ballet and tap technique for younger dancers. Students will continue to build their vocabulary and movement of each style in a fun, nurturing environment through various creative center and across the floor activities.

HIP HOP (STUDIO) Students will learn the foundations of hip hop techniques while challenging themselves through various combinations and across the floor exercises. Students will also develop their movement style through diverse choreography set by the instructor.

HIP HOP/JAZZ (STUDIO) For students who want a little bit of both, this class offers various jazz and hip hop techniques. On a rotating basis, students will be exposed to the foundations of jazz and hip hop technique and will focus on how to apply movement skills they learn from both genres to become a more well rounded dancer.

BOLLYWOOD (STUDIO) The Bollywood dance style is a beautiful blend of all Indian dance styles be it classical Indian dance, folk Indian dance or the more current R&B, hip-hop music.

MUSICAL THEATER (STUDIO)This class will introduce students to the theatrical dance style that blends dance technique and acting to songs from Broadway and musicals. Students will learn how to tell a story through dance by being introduced to various dance and acting exercises.

DANCE DIVERSITIES (RECREATION)A class for dancers to experience all the different genres of Dance. On a rotating basis, students will be exposed to new styles and techniques in ballet, lyrical, hip hop, tap, and jazz. The goal of this class is to improve technique, flexibility, and confidence in all our dancers!

EMPOWERHER- DANCE FITNESS (RECREATION) “Empower a girl, change the world!” EmpowerHER is a class designed for young women to enhance self-image through physical activity such as dance fitness, healthy habits, and confidence building.

ACRO DANCE (RECREATION)This class combines classical dance techniques with precision acrobatic (tumbling) elements. The choreography will blend dance and acrobatics to increase flexibility, strength, and coordination.

NACETTES DANCE TEAMThe Nacettes Dance Team offers dancers the opportunity to receive more in depth technical training in all genres of dance. Dancers will receive and perform choreographed dance routines that they will use to compete with in regional dance competitions. The Nacettes also star and perform multiple numbers in our end of the season Studio Dance Program Recital.

Dance Team Practices are held from 6:10 pm – 7:00 pm every Monday and Wednesday.

ATTIRE All participants must wear a t-shirt, shorts or sweat pants. All children must have sneakers.

Kid FitGET FIT W/ METhis is an instructional class that introduces young ones to the very basic skills and concepts of fitness and sports. We ask parents to remain with child and encourage their child to engage in all structured activities. Children will receive the opportunity to develop a love for fitness and sports at a young age.

KID FIT JR.Toddlers will use their fine and gross motor skills while running, jumping, throwing, and catching in a variety of fun games and activities.

LIL’ SPORTSDoes your child want to be a Naclete? This sports oriented class will introduce the fundamentals of multiple sports. The little ones will begin learning the basics in Soccer, T-ball, corn hole, mini-golf, and much, much more.

KIDS CREATE Let’s get Creative!! Kids Create is an opportunity for your child to explore their artistic side, and perhaps their ability to think outside the box. Each week children will have an activity involving food, art, and/or science.

NAC SPORTS Now that you are a Naclete!! This sports oriented class will break down the fundamental skills, both beginner, and intermediate, in multiple varieties of sports. Your athlete will perform in Soccer, Floor Hockey, Baseball, Scoop ball, and more. Children will also participate in fun game at the end of class to promote team building skills.

BASKETBALLOur basketball class will focus on teaching, and reinforcing fundamental skills that will include dribbling, passing, and shooting. Players will also play games such as Horse and Knock Out at the end of each class.

SPIN Children will enjoy this fast paced cardio workout using the spinning bikes while increasing endurance. Fundamentals of cycling will be taught including how to set up the bikes. Riders must be 5’ feet or taller to enroll due to the bike height restrictions.

ZUMBA/LIL’ ZUMBA This class is designed to introduce children to different dance styles with a focus on Latin movement and music. *Family Zumba - Parent participation class, parent must attend.

PARISI This class is designed to increase speed, strength and self-confidence. This class is a solid introduction to the NAC Parisi Program.

JUST SCOOT! CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!!!! In Just Scoot, children will participate in all sorts of group activities and games while riding on scooters!!

JUMP AROUND / JR JUMPERS Jump, jump, jump around! Children will participate in activities that involve jumping using everything from jump ropes to trampolines. Children will be bouncing off the walls… safely!

SIX ZONESix seperate zones of continuous, non-stop high intensity interval training.

NETS @ AT THE NAC Serves up! Children will be taught the fundamentals of Tennis and Volleyball while gaining team building skills as they work with other children for the match point!

TAG, YOU’RE IT!Who wants to be it? Each week, children will play variations of the classic “you’re it” tag game! A great energy outlet for the little ones.

TaekwondoNAC Taekwondo (TKD) is a fun sport and martial art that builds self-confidence and athletic ability just as in our youth performance training, kids fitness, and gymnastics programs. Taekwondo provides a systematic approach to achieving goals. Parents will enjoy watching their children progress through the program and seeing their child have improved self-discipline while having an outlet for their physical energy. The NAC has a world-class program run by the President of Pennsylvania Taekwondo and is affiliated with the US Olympic Committee (School #5595). We also have more than a dozen instructors who have Black Belts of the 4th degree or higher – something unheard of anywhere else in the USA!

SATURDAY IS KID’S NIGHT OUT!

Kids Night Out offers children the opportunity to participate in a variety of themed activities, sports, games and arts n’ crafts. In addition, children ages 5 and older, have the option to swim if desired. All children attending KNO will receive pizza, snack, and a beverage. Children are to be dropped off at the Kids Club

located on the main floor of the Newtown Athletic Club.

WHEN:Every Saturday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

COST:NAC Members $18.00 per child

General Public $28.00 per child

ADDITIONAL CARE OPTIONS:Early Care available from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm
