The School of Education and the Career Center are coming together to put on the first Teacher Recruitment Career Fair. Date: March 25, 2013 Time: 1:00pm-5:00pm Place: The Williams Stadium Tower Focus: The purpose of this event is to provide Liberty University School of Education students and alumni the opportunity to network, apply and interview with local and national companies. Attendance: Open to all School of Education Juniors, Seniors, Graduate students and alumni – students should bring several copies of their resume to hand out to the employers. Dress and Appearance: Business attire was required for entrance into the event.

DESCRIPTION OF SCHOOLAmherst County was formed in 1761 from Albemarle County and was named for Sir Jeffery Amherst, a hero of the battle of Ticonderoga during the French and Indian War. It is bounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west and the James River to the south and east. The boundaries encompass 470 square miles.

The county is located near the geographic center of Virginia. This places it strategically adjacent to Lynchburg and within 50 miles of Charlottesville and Roanoke which enhances the local commerce and educational opportunities. The state’s capital, Richmond, is 100 miles close and the port of Hampton Roads and the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., are within 200 miles of Amherst County.
