The simulator is a 1:1 copy of the real plant under usage of the original engineering data for power plants. During operation the simulator acts exactly like the real plant, and all details are displayed on the screen identical to the original control room. Each disturbance and each plant status can be repeated by the simulator as much as required to train all reactions and procedures perfectly. All trainings from simple daily warm-up training to intensive training are available – when ever needed.

1.2 System Architecture

1.2.1 Complete Integration Architecture The SPPA-T3000 process control system has been developed based on the needs of today's power plants with an integrated system architecture for all automation tasks, from engineering and commissioning to operation and diagnostics. This has been achieved through its object based design called Embedded Component Services™ (ECS). All the data relevant to any process object is embedded into a single but highly available, independent component. Any interaction with the process object, whether it be for operating, process control, diagnostics, or even just viewing data, is performed by this single component. This approach results in a homogenous system architecture that simplifies the system structure and eliminates the need for the required sub-systems as used in classic control systems.

Page 12: SPPA-T3000 Highlights R400 - Siemens Türkiye · Power Generation SPPA-T3000 System Highlights, Nov 15th, 2007 Page 1 from 22 Instrumentation & Controls SPPA-T3000 System Highlights

SPPA-T3000 System Highlights, Nov 15th, 2007 Page 12 from 22

Classic control systems are based on an outdated client-server structure that has a real-time link to the automation level on which all automation functions are processed. The different functions such as operation & monitoring, archiving, reporting, diagnosis and engineering have been implemented into various dedicated PCs or workstations. This results in a landscape of different operating systems, software packages and data bases which are allegedly "integrated by means of complex middleware and communication mechanisms. Now, new technologies allow for the most powerful and simplest approach, the Embedded Component Services™ (ECS). The traditional separation between automation system, HMI, engineering system and diagnostic system disappears. The HMI, engineering, diagnostics etc. are just different views of the system and therefore pure software functionalities.

1.2.2 Major Components Major Components SPPA-T3000 combines the reliability of proven, real-time process controllers with new technologies to establish a simplified but further robust platform.

The component-based system of SPPA-T3000 offers an Integrated Engineering approach for the implementation of control configuration and plant display design. Every process is represented by a related software component which represents not only the traditional automation functionality, but also includes functionality that is necessary for operating and monitoring, alarming, engineering and diagnostics purposes. The engineering can be scheduled according to technological plant process requirements regardless if the control logic or the HMI representation is engineered first. There is no sequential working procedure required. Therefore the engineering process becomes optimized, and can be tailored to meet individual business process requirements. Your benefit: Optimized design workflow with an uniform interface, a single editor and a single data base for an easy

handling

Built-in data consistency without mapping of sub-systems Classical systems need complex "translations" or mapping functions which try to achieve data consistency between the different sub-systems. SPPA-T3000' Embedded Component Services™ provides all I&C functions represented by single software components. The HMI, engineering, diagnostics etc. are just different views of the components. As every component includes its data intrinsically, this approach makes initial design and modifications much easier because of a close relationship between the Engineering View and the actual system state. So, there is an ensured intrinsic consistency between the HMI and the control logic. Operation and Engineering are simply different Views of the same data. Your benefit:

High reliability through intrinsic consistency of configuration data

Online configuration changes with comprehensive checks and logic testing before activating changes SPPA-T3000 ' intuitive, user-friendly graphical interface allows the immediate and cost effective conversion of designs, from technological task definitions into high quality I&C implementations. All Plant Displays and Functional Diagrams can be switched to "Configuration Mode" directly from any User Interface, and can be modified by any user who has the appropriate access rights. Comprehensive checks and logic testing are performed in a nearly not detectable time before activating any changes. Changes can be activated immediately, without further mapping, code generation or download procedures. All Views in the system (Diagnostics View, Plant Display, Alarm Sequence Display, Point View, etc. ) are immediately updated and presented dynamically. Your benefit:

Secure and instant changes under any plant condition

Rollback quickly switches back to the status prior to a modification Engineering Rollback helps ensure system stability. When modifying configurations, an image of the previous version is automatically saved in the system. If the new configuration does not work satisfactorily, the previous configuration can be restored with a simple click. This functionality is independent from redundant or non redundant Automation

Server topology. Rollback provides a significant advantage for maintenance and service of the system, without the need for processor swap / switch-over. This increases the overall system stability. Your benefit:

Fast online undo of configuration changesfor easier rectification of incorrect engineering data

Spreadsheet Engineering is a powerful tool to view and edit large amounts of engineering data A list interface is provided for processing large amounts of configuration data. Simple selection, sorting or handling instructions are executed by this integrated interface. For complex operations, the selected data scope can be exported and processed by conventional methods (e.g., MS-EXCEL) and then re-imported to SPPA-T3000 .

Your benefit:

Faster and easier changes, even for large masses of data

Log of engineering changes The system allows for archiving of the engineering changes with user name, date and time. Not only detailed analysis of what changes have been made from one revision to another, but the time and individual who accessed and made changes can be logged and reviewed too. Your benefit: Log of engineering changes and control for the entire system without need for added utilities or

applications

Configuration Documentation The system has a built -in functions for the printout of the configuration in various paper size formats including drawing borders allowing automated titling and numbering with a wide selection of information which can be either automatically applied or manually manipulated. Drawings can be distributed amongst the various participants in a project. Design or modification for formal review and comment cycles and content, such as all component blocks, ports, channel assignments, off page connectors, are automatically generated, displayed and selectable with a mouse click for printout. Your benefit:

Configuration drawing export with simple, flexible attribute selection.
