Sports & Management Research Institute (SMRI) is the topmost sports management and sports engineering research and training institute in India. Globally, sports is considered as a vibrant industry. Sports gives employment and revenue apart from entertainment. The sports become a cash-rich industry because of the contributions of many sports passionate enterprising individuals across the globe. They made poor athletes sports stars in every sense. Many times their contributions go unnoticed in the glitter of sports stars. The real people who drive the sports industry needs to be appreciated for their contributions.

For that, We SMRI (Sports Management & Research Institute) initiate SMRI SPORTS LEADERSHIP AWARDS to recognize the works and contributions of sports federations, sports administrators, sports scientists, sports managers, sports businesses and sports educators. This is a platform for sports fraternity to come together and to work together for making India a sports superpower.

Application has to be submitted in the prescribed format along with a PowerPoint presentation of your profile, work and achievements. Powerpoint presentation should not exceed 5MB. You can add the links of all relevant documents in the powerpoint presentation for the review of the Sports Leadership Award Committee and Jury.

Ÿ Applicants of individual awards must sent a detailed biodata in pdf format.

Ÿ People can nominate others or even themselves

Ÿ Entries are only accepted electronically, please do not send us hard copy.

AC01 BEST SPORTS ADMINISTRATOR

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of Sports Administrators

Ÿ Only the current or past presidents and secretaries of sports associations of state or national level can apply

Ÿ The applicant must have more than 3 years of experience in the administrative positions of any sports association

Ÿ A detailed biodata of the applicant (only in pdf format) must be attached with the application

AC02 BEST SPORTS ASSOCIATION / FEDERATION

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of sports associations of India

Ÿ Only the state level and national level sports associations or federations can apply

Ÿ The applicant association or federation must be in operation for more than 3 years

AC03 BEST SPORTS MANAGER

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of sports executives working in the private or not for profit sports organizations in India

Ÿ The applicant must be a middle level or top level executive with more than 3 years of total work experience in the sports industry

Ÿ A detailed biodata of the applicant (only in pdf format) must be attached with the application

AC04 BEST SPORTS COMPANY

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of sports organizations

Ÿ The applicant organization must be incorporated in India as a limited company or not for profit organization.

Ÿ The applicant organization must be in operation for more than 3 years

AC05 BEST SPORTUP (SPORTS STARTUP)

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of sport startups

Ÿ The applicant organization must be incorporated in India as a limited company or not for profit organization.

Ÿ The applicant organization must be in operation for more than 1 year and must not exceed 3 years in operations.

AC06 BEST SPORTS SCIENTIST

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of sport scientists

Ÿ The applicant must be a sports nutritionist, sports psychologist, sports physiotherapist, sports medicine specialist or exercise scientist, with more than 3 years of total work experience in the sports industry

Ÿ A detailed biodata of the applicant (only in pdf format) must be attached with the application

AC07 BEST SPORTS EDUCATOR

Ÿ To recognize the works and achievements of sports educators working in schools and colleges.

Ÿ The applicant must be a sports teacher with BPEd or similar degree and with more than 3 years of total work experience in sports education.

Ÿ A detailed biodata of the applicant (only in pdf format) must be attached with the application

Ÿ The awards will be decided by the Sports Award Jury (SAJ) constituted by SMRI with the distinguished sports professionals. Their names will be announced along with the award declaration.

Ÿ SMRI or a professional agency appointed by SMRI will do a detailed background verification to ensure the authenticity of applications before short-listing the applications.

Ÿ The process of short-listing will be done by the Sports Leadership Award Committee (SLAC) constituted by SMRI with the prominent sports professionals of India.

Ÿ The short-listed applicants will be interviewed by the judges before deciding the winners.

Ÿ The awards will be decided based on significance, originality and innovative elements.

SELECTION PROCESS

The SPORTS LEADERSHIP AWARD recipients will be invited to the SPORTS LEADERSHIP AWARD CEREMONY where he/she - will deliver a lecture in a session; - will receive the award.

Accommodation will be arranged by the organizers. If the recipient is unable to attend the award function, then the organizers would decide when and where the award should be presented to him/her.

Ÿ All entry materials will be retained by Sports & Management Research Institute (SMRI), the organizer of the Sports Leadership Awards for award processing and future reference.

Ÿ You must ensure that you have secured the appropriate rights and clearances for all materials and images submitted. Award Organizers will not be liable for any copyright, trademark, patent infringement or non-payment grievances held against entrants.

Ÿ The information provided will be used by the Sports & Management Research Institute (SMRI) for research and for educating the sports professionals through di�erent mediums such as academic case studies.

Ÿ By submitting your entry, you agree that the materials may be published for the promotion of the awards and media e�orts related to digital communication, as well as for the development of case studies and teaching tools.

Ÿ Please translate all non-English text into English in brief to facilitate the judging process. (Example a newspaper cutting regarding your work/achievement)

Ÿ Decisions by the jury are final.
