We have an unwavering commitment to this mission and will always strive to deliver the most optimal, advanced care to our animal friends – and their owners. Simply put, Providence Animal Center is Lifesaving. Adoption. Wellness. Community. Providence Animal Center is a 501(c)3 private nonprofit that is not affiliated with any county, government or other animal welfare agency. Providence Animal Center relies on private donations alone to continue our important work, such as:

Rescue and adoption servicesIn 2017, Providence Animal Center adopted 4,002 animals into forever homes, many of them transferred to our lifesaving Center from overcrowded shelters through our TAILS (Transporting Animals Into Loving Situations) program. Without our help, these precious orphans never would have received a second chance.

Low-cost veterinary servicesProvidence Animal Center operates weekday onsite and weekly mobile low-cost veterinary clinics as well as provides low-cost spay and neuter and other lifesaving surgeries, reaching thousands of clients who otherwise would not be able to afford to care for their pets and would have to give them up for lack of resources. Specific spay/neuter and behavior programs are targeted at owned Pit Bulls.

Spay Days. Providence Animal Center offers drastically subsidized cat spay and neuter days multiple times a year to cat owners in most need in effort to control the cat population, as cats overwhelm dogs in animal shelters 3:1.

Pet food pantries for low-income familiesThrough partnerships with local food pantries, Providence Animal Center provides over 500 pet meals monthly. Pet pantry clients have expressed that they would have to turn their pets over to an animal shelter if not for the pet food pantry. Clients are also offered completely subsidized vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries annually as well as holiday treats.

Humane Investigations and Humane EducationHumane Society Police Officers investigate up to 1,200 instances of animal cruelty in Delaware County and now Chester County every year. Those animals are often relinquished to our care. For many, it’s a long and very costly road to recovery before they can be placed up for adoption. In an effort to reduce animal cruelty, Providence Animal Center operates a Humane Education program where children and adults around the community learn about proper animal care and preventing cruelty to animals.
