DearFriend,In August 2013, I was alone with a gunman, in possession of an AK47 and over 500 rounds ofammunition.Hewaspreparedtotakehislifealongwiththelivesofchildren,teachersandfacultyattheR.E.McNairDiscoveryLearningAcademywhere Iwasemployedat thetime.Mystorygrabbedheadlines across the world because of my ability to talk him down, potentially saving the lives ofhundreds.Sincethatincident,Ihavefoundedanon-profitorganizationcalledKidsontheMoveforSuccess,Inc.Inthepastthreeyears,ourorganizationhasawardedover20educationalscholarshipstostudentsofallages,bothnationallyandinternationally.Manyofthesestudentsarerealizingtheireducationalgoalsandattendingcollege.We believe “If you can help them to develop a vision, you can change their lives!”

We are preparing to launch our Discovery sTEAM Mentoring Program for students in the Atlantaarea.WewillbehostingupcomingeventstoraisemoneysothatwecanhelpstudentsintheareasofScience,Technology,Engineering,ArtsandMath(sTEAM).WewillalsoimpactthroughourlaunchatCanby Lane Elementary approximately 700 students in the sTEAM fields with group sessions andeducationfieldtrips.Wewould be honored to have you as a Corporate Sponsor. Approximately10 to15 volunteermentors from the community and theAtlantaareawillbematchedwithstudentmenteesfrom3rdthrough8thgrade.Theprogramwilltargetunderservedyouth in the community, and the mentor/mentee matches will last through each academic year.Mentor/menteematcheswillmeetonceperweekduringthestudent’s lunchbreakorafterschoolhours.Mentorsarealsoexpectedtoattendquarterlygroupevents.WewillalsoimpactthroughourlaunchatCanbyLaneElementaryapproximately700students in thesTEAMfieldswithgroupsessionsandeducationfieldtrips.
