THETOURNAMENT

Who:This awe‐inspiring “Kids Play 4 Kids Charity Hockey Tournament” invites

110 teams with over 2,200 young hockey players across multiple divisions

of Timbits to Peewee to play in a fun 4‐on‐4 tournament.

What:The tournament will feature 250 4‐on‐4 hockey games throughout the

city of Calgary. All teams will play a fun non‐contact game of hockey with

two‐25 minute periods in a round robin of 4 games. The tournament is

open to full teams who are registered with minor hockey associations.

Everyone plays!

Where:The Kids Play 4 Kids Charity Hockey Tournament will be held at over 10

different ice locations throughout the city of Calgary. Home ice advantage

will be Edge School and Crowfoot ice arenas. Break away ice locations will

be held at Optimist, Henry Viney / Stew Hendry, Max Bell 2, Frank McCool,

Southland, Rose Kohn, Murray Copot, Ernie Starr and Shouldice.

When:Friday, March 23, 2011 4:30pm – 9:00pm Saturday, March 24, 2011 8:00am – 9:00pm Sunday, March 25, 2011 8:00am – 9:00pm

Why:The overall focus of the tournament is to promote awareness and

excellence in health, education and sport while caring for others

through the passion of hockey.

The purpose of the tournament is to inspire children with character

building and leadership opportunities to empower them to

understand the importance of families, the strength of communities,

and the ultimate gift of giving back to less fortunate “kids”.

care. Funds raised will help

specialists at the Alberta

cures and provide better

treatments for children and

families fighting cancer. The

Edge School is where busy student‐athletes can achieve a

balanced life while pursuing

their personal best through

the purposeful integration of

excellence in academics,

athletics and character

building. Edge School provides

financial assistance to over

twenty percent of its student

population, affording them the

opportunity to attend Edge

School and pursue their

passion. Funds raised from the

Kids Play 4 Kids Charity

Hockey Tournament will

provide financial assistance,

through the Student Financial

Program, to students who

wish to attend or stay enrolled

at Edge School.

Hockey Calgary believes every child deserves the

opportunity to play hockey.

The funds raised from the Kids

Play 4 Kids Charity Hockey

Tournament will go towards

all 13,500 kids and the great

game. Hockey Calgary strives

to be the benchmark of sport

associations by providing

leadership, life skills and

development to all our

members. By providing

programs to members, at

minimal to no cost, it allows all

participants to play hockey

regardless of their financial

status. Hockey isn’t just a

game; it’s about learning life

skills, building friendships and

creating memories. With every

dollar raised, another pair of

skates will hit the ice.
