Sponsorship Opportunities

Over their lifetimes, systems change. They must be architected for change because organizations need their systems to be adaptable while still meeting requirements.

Your sponsorship of SATURN 2010 connects your organization with the change agents and thought leaders in software architecture.

ARCHITECTING FOR CHANGE Requirements change. Organizations change. Technology changes. Infrastructure changes. People and personnel change. The world changes. Organizations need their systems to be able to adapt to change while continuing to meet business and mission goals.

Just within the past few years, we have seen a growing emphasis on new approaches, technologies, and concerns that were not of high importance before:

• Cloud computing platforms have emerged. Companies such as Google and Amazon have moved to new business models.

• Developing effectively for multicore processors has become a focus of many organizations.

• The need for cost-effective data management, especially in the context of health care, has forced many organizations to undertake data-modernization projects.

• The increasing cost of energy has forced software engineers to find ways to reduce consumption and production costs in the applications they develop.

And the list goes on.

The theme for SATURN 2010 is “Architecting for Change.” The conference, scheduled for May 17-21 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will cover emerging technologies, best practices, and lessons learned for architecture ranging from enterprise and systems architecture to software architecture.

As systems grow in complexity, architecture’s role becomes increasingly important at enterprise, systems, and software levels. Architecture practitioners rely on best practices and technology to build predictable, high-quality systems. To promote sharing of architecture advances, the SEI Architecture Technology User Network (SATURN) was formed in 2005. The SATURN Conference is held every year to bring together experts from around the world to exchange best architecture-centric practices in developing, acquiring, and maintaining software-reliant systems. This is the event where professionals with an interest in good architecture meet to share, network, and learn.

The annual SATURN Conference reflects the network’s vision, connecting architecture practitioners so they can

• share best practices in developing and acquiring software, systems, and enterprise architecture to build predictable, high-quality systems

• network with colleagues and SEI experts to help advance software, systems, and enterprise architecture knowledge

• find potential solutions, service providers, training, partners, and more to help their organizations use effective software, systems, and enterprise architecture practices across the life cycle

• stay current with the latest SEI architecture technologies

• meet and learn from other software, systems, and enterprise architecture professionals

The SEI Architecture Technology User Network has flourished since its formation, expanding in breadth of topics explored, and now boasts over 700 members. You can learn more through LinkedIn.

By becoming a sponsor for SATURN 2010, you will promote the goals of both the conference and the network in advancing effective architecture practices.
