Page 1: Sponsorship Committee

March 31, 2014

Dear Friend,

Alzheimer’s disease is the largest underfunded public health threat facing our nation today. Today, more than half of all Americans know someone with Alzheimer’s. An estimated four million Americans per year turn age 65 - when the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease significantly increases. For the baby boomer generation, Alzheimer’s will be an epidemic.

As a volunteer of the Alzheimer’s Association, and a member of the 2014 Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s planning committee, I am writing to invite you to get involved with the cause by supporting this year’s Walk, which is coming up on Sunday, September 28 at Paul Revere Park in Boston. Ways to get involved include:

Forming a Walk team Sponsoring the Walk Volunteering at the Walk Making a tax deductible contribution to the Alzheimer’s Association

Last year generous support from healthcare providers, corporations, and other individuals like you helped the Alzheimer’s Association, MA/NH Chapter raise over $2.7 million for Alzheimer’s research, care, and support. This year we are on track raise more than $3 million chapter-wide with the support of over 20,000 walkers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire; we hope you can join us. The Walk is a great way to showcase your compassion and commitment to the Greater Boston community.

Enclosed is a sheet you can complete and mail back to the Association, with your preferred way to get involved. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Sincerely,

Claire Henry, M.Ed., CDP. 2014 Greater Boston Walk to End Alzheimer’s Sponsorship Committee Dementia Program Director, Meadowview [email protected] (Phone) 978-276-2025

P.S. – Please save the date for the 2014 Greater Boston Walk Kickoff, coming up at 6:30pm on Wednesday, May 14 at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston! It’s a great way to learn more about the Walk, pick up fundraising ideas and materials, meet fellow walkers, and more. RSVP to [email protected].
