PRATHIBHA PURASKAR – 2014 (SPONSORED BY M/S LAURUS LABS)

With objective of inspiring the young minds and to instil the confidence in Govt. school

students, Srujanavani Voluntary Association with sponsorship from M/s Laurus Labs organised a

district level mega event called “PrathibhaPuraskar –2014” on 21st June,2014. 58 students

(toppers) from Govt. Schools of all the 43 mandals of Visakhapatnam district were felicitated along

with their Parents & Head masters.

Students’ joy knew no bounds when they were awarded with medals & certificates by Chief Guest

Prof. GSN Raju. Books & Bags were also distributed to the awardees. Prof GSN. Raju in his speech

emphasised role of discipline and values in the life of a student.

Srujanavani president Sri R.Chandrasekhar briefly

explained the objectives of organisation. “The main

motto of organisation is self-reformation and we

achieve it through service activities. We are working in

areas of education, health & empowerment”.

M/S Laurus labs Executive director Sri V.V.RaviKumar

explained about various charity initiatives they have

taken up around company premises. He shared “Being

a student from Govt. School, I know the hardships

faced by them and today is their day of celebration and

joy. To promote education we have launched a

sponsored integrated M.Sc course for students”. He

assured Srujanavani to support its ‘Education on

Wheels’ activity in Visakhapatnam district.

Sri Ravindra of Vandemataram foundation appreciated the students and addressed improper

education is a prominent source for all social disparities. Govt. school education is being neglected

and should be focused to bring all round development.Special invitee Sri K Chandramouli (Retired

IAS officer), explained about changing trends in education system and its impact on society. Only the

poor is using Govt.school system, so there is least accountability from the public and Govt.

Sri Demudu (Principal- GICT) expressed his heartfelt appreciations for the members of srujanavani

as most of them were his students. Sri Giridharan (CFO-SALPG ) shared that he has seen the most

energetic youth in srujanavani and said he will involve in the activities on personal front.

Another student expressed “ I am feeling honoured to get the award by distinguished guests and I

will strive hard to reach similar positions and give awards to many students.”

Mr. Venkatesh : “ Students of Govt school know the difficulties faced by a common man and will

definitely serve back to society. As English is also a subject in Govt. Schools, we are also at par

with corporate schools.”

One of the HM expressed “ We are really impressed by the euphoric atmosphere present here. We

did not believe it would be so when we got the invitation but after coming here we are

speechless.”

After the event, all the students moved to M/s Hidustan Shipyard Ltd for an industrial tour. They got

a wonderful opportunity to know about the basics of ship design and equipments used. The packed

day schedule will remain as the most cherished memory for all the students as they felt very happy

for everything.

Kumari A. Indu : “I am very happy to receive the award. I have

put in lot of efforts to achieve the top grade and if facilities

like lab & library are improved in Govt schools then our school

will be no.1 in future.”

Mr.Vinay : “ MatrudevoBhava, PitrudevoBhava,

AcharyaDevoBhava... I owe my success to my mother, father

& Teachers who stood behind me for this achievement.”
