FIRE DEPARTMENT NOTES
1. Commercial Fire Extinguishing System (NFPA 13) will beinstalled and maintained throughout. sprinkler Plan Check requiredby outside agency. System will include Fire DepartmentConnections (FDC's), Post Indicator Valves for each majorstructure.
2. A Fire Alarm and Smoke Detection System will be installed inaccordance with NFPA 72 standards and will include, but not limitedto, Visual/Audible Alarm, Master Control Unit and Zoned/Annunciated Alarm.
3. A 2.1 Occupancy, A-3 Occupancy and E-2 Occupancy shallconform to the 2007 California Fire Code. Maximum occupantloads of each building and classroom will be posted.
4. Fire Hydrants shall be installed to Ramona Municipal WaterDistrict standards. Fire Hydrants will be equipped with (1) four inchconnection and (2) two-and-a-half inch connections.
5. Defensible space of 100' shall be maintained around allstructures.
6. Street Numbers shall be posted at the entrance cul-de-sacand on the Sanctuary Building clearly visible from the intersection ofHighland Valley Road and Highway 67. Address characters will besix inches (6") with a one-half inch stroke between characters, on acontrasting background, "NO POLISHED METAL IS ALLOWED".

LIGHTING DESCRIPTION NARRATIVE
GENERAL NOTETHE INTENT OF THE LIGHTING SCHEME IS TO MAINTAIN A BALANCE BETWEEN SAFETY AND THE EXISTING RURAL CHARACTER OF THE AREA.BECAUSEOF ITS PROMINENT LOCATION AND THE NON-COMMERCIAL NATURE OF IT BEING A CHURCH, THE LIGHTING IS INTENDED TO BE LOW-LEVEL, DIFFUSEOR INDIRECT WHERE POSSIBLE, AND ON ONLY WHEN NEEDED.
BUILDING INTERIOR LIGHTING THE SANCTUARY BUILDING IS THE ONLY STRUCTURE THAT WILL HAVE AN APPRECIABLE AMOUNT OF LIGHTING THAT WILL BE VISIBLETO THE EXTERIOR. DIFFUSE LIGHT WILL BE ALL THAT IS VISIBLE FROM THE EXTERIOR, AS ALL INTERIOR FIXTURES WILL BE DIRECTIONALDOWNLIGHTS AND OBSCURED BY THE TIMBER STRUCTURE. THE WINDOWS FACING SOUTH ARE RECESSED BETWEEN LARGE 'FINS'RUNNING FULL-HEIGHT, AND AS SUCH ANY VIEW OF THE WINDOWS IS BLOCKED AT AN OBLIQUE ANGLE.
FACING NORTH, LIGHT EMANATING FROM THE SANCTUARY WILL BE BLOCKED BY THE FELLOWSHIP HALL AND MEMORIALGARDEN WALL ON ONE SIDE AND THE ADMINISTRATION/CLASSROOM BUILDINGS AND MEDITATION GARDEN WALL ON THEOTHER. THE COURTYARD ROOF STRUCTURE WILL BLOCK THE NORTHERLY VISIBILITY OF THE WINDOWS. OBLIQUE VIEWSOF THE SANCTUARY WINDOWS IS BLOCKED BY A TEN-FOOT OVERHANG OF THE SANCTUARY BUILDING. THE HIGH CENTERWINDOW FACING NORTH WILL NOT EMIT AN APPRECIABLE AMOUNT OF LIGHT, AS THE INTERIOR FIXTURES ARE LOWER.
BUILDING EXTERIOR NO LIGHTS ARE PROPOSED ON THE BUILDING EXTERIOR TO LIGHT EXTERIOR WALL OF THE BUILDING.
MONUMENT SIGNS THE MONUMENT SIGNS ARE LIT BY INDIRECT 'HALO' LIGHTING, WITH A LOW-LEVEL DIRECTIONALLIGHT TO HIGHLIGHT THE CROSS/DOVE STRUCTURE.
ARBORS SCONCES ON THE THREE ARBOR STRUCTURES ARE LOW-LEVEL DOWNLIGHTS.
BOLLARDS BOLLARD LIGHTS WILL BE DIRECTIONAL DOWNLIGHTS AIMED AT THE WLKWAY, AND NOT HORIZONTAL LENS LIGHTING.
PARKING LOT LIGHTS THE MINIMUM OF LIGHT FIXTURES IS USED TO PROVIDE SAFETY WHEN VISITORSARE PRESENT. THE FIXTURES ARE PLACED TOWARD THE INTERIOR SO AS TO NOTALLOW LIGHT TO SPILL OVER ONTO NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES. ANAUTOMATIC LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM WILL BE EMPLOYED TOCAUSE THE LIGHTS TO SHUT OFF WHEN UNNECESSARY.
ADJACENT PROPERTIES IMMEDIATE ADJACENT PROPERTIES ARE UNDEVELOPED, AND ASSUCH HAVE NO LIGHTING AT PRESENT. IMMEDIATELY ADJACENT TOTHE PROJECT IS THE INTERSECTION OF HIGHLAND VALLEY ROADAND HIGHWAY 67 AND IS WELL-LIT WITH STANDARD HIGH-LEVELSTREET LIGHTS. LIGHTING PROPOSED FOR THIS PROJECT ISCOMPATIBLE WITH THE EXISTING LEVEL OF LIGHTING IN THE PUBLICRIGHT-OF-WAY AND WITH ANTICIPATED LIGHTING OF LOCALAG/COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES AS THEY ARE DEVELOPED.
