For over 160 years the staff of Uspiritus have been taking care of children that have no place to call home Each day brings a new child into our care and a new chance to heal a broken Spirit Each day we hear success stories reflecting the positive impact our agency has made on the lives of children These successes are a direct result of commitments from countless numbers of people who have collaborated with the common goal of improving the life of a child

We measure many aspects of the work we do at Uspiritus but none more important than the treatment successes of the children we serve

Uspiritusrsquo residential programs report over 85 of youth successfully completed their treatment program Community Based Services and Family Preservation programs report over 80 of the children had successful life outcomes And most important youth served at Uspiritus are about 90 more likely to avoid a disruption from their treatment program and placed in a psychiatric hospital

Together with an uncompromising staff dedicated volunteers devoted board members and faith partners we will strive to heal the Spirits and minds of children By working together we will continue to build on the foundation that has been laid we will overcome the challenges that the future may bring and we will stay on course with our commitment to excellence Irsquom committed to continue leading the great work of Uspiritus by connecting life-changing professional excellence with a faith based purpose of healing both the mind and the Spirit

From the PresidentSpirit Itrsquos a fitting theme for this yearrsquos Annual Report A year with many rewarding moments as well as some challenges but at every turn Irsquove witnessed the spirit of this organization shine through

Our mandate at Uspiritus is to help heal children suffer-ing with emotional and psychological trauma Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our truly wonderful and professional staff Uspiritus has raised the bar for successful outcomes in our Commonwealth Their steadfast commitment to helping our most vulnerable children demonstrates their true spirit of love and caring

I am continually amazed at the spirit of these wonderful children Their resiliency in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds shows a strength -- a spirit -- that is truly amazing and beautiful to see

The spirit and commitment among my fellow Board of Directors in working with staff to manage costs while increasing services to the more than 1200 children served by Uspiritus this past year is nothing short of remarkable I am proud to be part of this team and honored to serve as the Chairman

To our many donors volunteers foundations and community partners your sup-port of the work we do each day at Uspiritus drives the spirit of this organization With over 8000 children in Kentucky in need of stabilized homes it is impossible for us to reach each and every child but with your continued support -- your spirit -- we work towards positively impacting the lives of as many as we can

No matter what role you play I want to say thank you Thank you for investing your time talent and treasure in Uspiritus to help us Restore Hope Instill Confidence Further Education and Encourage Spirituality and Faith in the hearts and minds of the vulnerable youth and their families we serve We look forward to sharing the spirit in 2017

Uspiritus serves ages newborn to 21 in our Community Based Services programs Our residential campuses serve youth ages 6 to 18 We provide psychiatric and intensive residential treatment with on-site schools a Therapeutic Foster Care program Intensive In-Home Services and an Independent Living program for ages 18-21

For more than 160 years Bellewood Home for Children and Brooklawn Child amp Family Services worked to nurture thousands of Kentuckyrsquos most vulnerable children In 2012 these agencies combined to form Uspiritus a non-profit organization helping children and families heal We combined to provide the highest quality of care for the children and families across the Commonwealth Our continuum of care allows children and families to move easily between services without disrupting established relationships

Volunteer Spotlight

The employees of Accuserv have become regular visitors to Uspiritus this past year They have ldquoadoptedrdquo two cottages on Uspiritusrsquo Brooklawn Campus and host a party once a month that includes some kind of game or crafts and usually special dinners They bring in food from places like Qdoba and Markrsquos Feedstore They provide them holiday treats such as Easter baskets and Christmas stockings to ensure each of the approximately 26 kids in these cottages have a special day

ldquoThey are that group that you can call and be willing to do whatever is neededrdquo said Uspiritus Director of Community Engagement Missy Fountain ldquoThey truly care about the kids and the kids LOVE themrdquo

Approximately 10-20 Accuserv employees participate in a single event and as many as 28 have shown up to volunteer their time to spread joy to the children at Uspiritus

In fiscal year 2016 Accuserv employees put in a total of 2265 volunteers hours

Accuserv provides its customers the ability to focus on their core business by holistically manag-ing design product sourcing and specification project management procurement negotia-tion distribution and logistics for construction supply chain services Through their dedicated customer service model they eliminate multi-tier distributor subcontractor and contractor mark-up providing fully transparent and competitive pricing on time delivery and best in class service

For over 160 years the staff of Uspiritus have been taking care of children that have no place to call home Each day brings a new child into our care and a new chance to heal a broken Spirit Each day we hear success stories reflecting the positive impact our agency has made on the lives of children These successes are a direct result of commitments from countless numbers of people who have collaborated with the common goal of improving the life of a child

We measure many aspects of the work we do at Uspiritus but none more important than the treatment successes of the children we serve

Uspiritusrsquo residential programs report over 85 of youth successfully completed their treatment program Community Based Services and Family Preservation programs report over 80 of the children had successful life outcomes And most important youth served at Uspiritus are about 90 more likely to avoid a disruption from their treatment program and placed in a psychiatric hospital

Together with an uncompromising staff dedicated volunteers devoted board members and faith partners we will strive to heal the Spirits and minds of children By working together we will continue to build on the foundation that has been laid we will overcome the challenges that the future may bring and we will stay on course with our commitment to excellence Irsquom committed to continue leading the great work of Uspiritus by connecting life-changing professional excellence with a faith based purpose of healing both the mind and the Spirit

Our mandate at Uspiritus is to help heal children suffer-ing with emotional and psychological trauma Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our truly wonderful and professional staff Uspiritus has raised the bar for successful outcomes in our Commonwealth Their steadfast commitment to helping our most vulnerable children demonstrates their true spirit of love and caring

I am continually amazed at the spirit of these wonderful children Their resiliency in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds shows a strength -- a spirit -- that is truly amazing and beautiful to see

The spirit and commitment among my fellow Board of Directors in working with staff to manage costs while increasing services to the more than 1200 children served by Uspiritus this past year is nothing short of remarkable I am proud to be part of this team and honored to serve as the Chairman

To our many donors volunteers foundations and community partners your sup-port of the work we do each day at Uspiritus drives the spirit of this organization With over 8000 children in Kentucky in need of stabilized homes it is impossible for us to reach each and every child but with your continued support -- your spirit -- we work towards positively impacting the lives of as many as we can
