£12Come spend a sultry, romantic evening in the company of Benoit Viellefon & His Orchestra, and let his warm lustrous tones and intricate guitar work escort you down the Parisian lanes of nostalgia…ooh lala!

Take to the dancefloor with the leading vintage dance ensemble, which has taken the British scene by storm. Amongst the finest enteratiners of his generation, Benoit directs internationally acclaimed musicians in a manner reminiscent of Duke Ellington and Charles Trenet.

Saturday 1st June8pm til late An Evening with Zoe Rahman & Friends £12MOBO Award Winner and Mercury-nominated jazz pianist and composer Zoe Rahman curates an evening of jazz:“I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to highlight some of the incredible female jazz musicians we have in the UK and was delighted when Harrogate Festival/Raestar Ventures invited me to curate an evening at the Spiegeltent. Opening with a set from the brilliant Scottish saxophonist and

composer Laura MacDonald, I’ll then present a set with my own band, featuring powerful drummer Cheryl Alleyne (Us3, Mano Ventura Trio, Jazz Warriors, Courtney Pine) and the phenomenal viola player Amanda Drummond (who I had the pleasure of working with in Courtney Pine’s ‘Europa’ project). I look forward to sharing an evening with these wonderful musicians.”

Holy soul food, Batman! It feels good to listen to a musician who plays from the heart’

Friday 7th June7pm til Late John Robb | Punk Rock and DIY Creativity £XXFirst produced for a TEDx event, meet John Robb our 2014 Fringe Curator and hear his take on Punk Rock and its impact on personal creativity. “Growing up in Blackpool, festering away until punk rock saved my life. I went on to form the loudest band ever, the Membranes, write for the music press where I made up the word ‘Britpop’ and was the first person to interview Nirvana and the Stone Roses amongst others.

These days I run the influential music blog (Louder than War), appear on TV, sing in cult punk rock band, Goldblade and tour the world, I write best-

selling books about music like the Stone Roses blog and an oral history of punk rock but I’m more interested in what everyone else is doing and that’s why I love events like these.”

8pm Smoove and Turrell £12One of Craig Charles’ favourite bands, regular playlisted for BBC Radio 2, this band from the North East creates a style of music they describe as ‘northern funk’, with a contemporary sound fusing a variety of musical genres including funk, northern soul, hip-hop and jazz.
