The spider monkey got its name because of its tail .It uses it to climb,sleep and eat .

How it got its name ?????

Where to find one?

You can find one in rainforests in Central and South America as well as places as far north as Mexico.

They prefer to wonder across the trees and the lower

Grounds. They typically wander in the trees and love to swing

tree to tree. It is hard to

catch one because they

are afraid of human. being

Spider monkey baby's

Baby's are born 14-26 inches, they are carried by their mothers for about 2-3 weeks. They are then starting to climb, communicate and also are starting to grow 3-5 feet as a grown spider monkey would.

More facts!

*They also prefer to stay in the wetter lands of the rainforest.

*They have slender bodies, they are slender and are very smart brains.

*Females give birth to only a single baby every two to five

Years.

Particular FOODS THEY EAT?

Spider monkeys love to eat fruit, but they prefer to only eat the insides of the fruit. They also like to feed on insects, nuts, eggs and leaves.

Spider monkeys eat mainly plant-based food. 90% of their diet consists of fruit, seed, nuts and flowers. Other than that, spider monkeys eat bird's eggs and insects.

There are seven different species of spider monkeys that live in Central and South America and in northern parts of Mexico. Spider monkeys live in wet and dense tropical rainforests.

Spider monkeys are very social animals. They live in the groups called troops. Since they are diurnal (active during the day), spider monkeys will split into smaller groups that will separately search for food.

How long do they live ??

Spider monkey can survive 22 to 25 years in the wild and up to 35 years in captivity. WOW HE'S OLD
