Support “Team Spice” this Sunday

Sunday 1st June is a big day for this group. We’ll be part of 7000 people taking part in the annual

Great Midlands Fun Run. We have a team of 32 made up of runners, walkers

and joggers. In addition, we provide a team of volunteer marshals who help with the event. Spice are also supporting sponsors of the day as we believe that the concept of an event where people of all ages and abilities take on a fun challenge to equal applause –

fits very well with our own ethos of Spice. Most importantly, we use the event to raise lots of

money for the Young Peoples Ward (teenagers with cancer) at The QE Hospital. The recent death of

Stephen Sutton reminds us all what a worthwhile cause this is to support.

I had the pleasure of meeting TV baker Peter Sidwell yesterday at his Penrith Cafe and thanking him

personally for introducing us to Hindleys of Lichfield through his TV show “Britain’s Best Bakery”. As a result, Hindleys have taught lots of Spice

members how to bake their own artisan bread. It’s fun, it’s a very useful skill and you go home with lots
