Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut two 6 ½” x 68 ½” strips. Backing- Flowers & Vines – Cream R2110-Cream 4 1/4 yards · Cut two 76” x WOF strips. Sew together and trim to make one 76” x 80” back. Block Assembly

    (Refer to the diagrams on Page 5 and pay attention to the orientation of the fabric and the units when making the blocks.)

    1) Place one 2 ¾” Fabric H square on the top left corner of one 5” Fabric G square, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the smaller square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle 1/4" away from the sewn seam.

    2) Follow Figure 3 for the seam direction to add a 2 ¾” Fabric H square to each of the remaining corners of the 5” Fabric G square to make one Unit 1 square (Fig. 4).

    3) Repeat Steps 1-2 to make four Unit 1 squares total.

    4) Place one 2 ¾” Fabric C square on the left side of one 2 ¾” x 5” Fabric D strip, right sides together (Fig. 5). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 5). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 6). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

    5) Place another 2 ¾” Fabric C square on the right side of the 2 ¾” x 5” Fabric D strip, right sides together (Fig. 7). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 7). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make one Unit 2 strip (Fig. 8).

    6) Repeat Steps 4-5 to make (16) Unit 2 strips total.

    7) Sew one 2 ¾” Fabric D square to each end of one Unit 2 strip to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew one Unit 2 strip to each side of one Unit 1 square to make the middle row. Sew the three rows together lengthwise to make one Block One square (Fig. 9). The square should measure 9 ½” x 9 ½”. Repeat to make four Block One squares total.

    8) Repeat Steps 1-2 and refer to Figure 10 for fabric identification, location and seam direction while using one 6 ½” Fabric A square and four 3 ½” Fabric B squares to make one Unit 3 square.

    9) Repeat Steps 4-5 and refer to Figure 11 for fabric identification, location and seam direction while using four 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric D strips and eight 3 ½” Fabric C squares to make four Unit 4 strips.

    10) Sew one 3 ½” Fabric D square to each end of one Unit 4 strip to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew one Unit 4 strip to each side of the Unit 3 square to make the middle row. Sew the three rows together lengthwise to make one Block Two square (Fig. 12). The square should measure 12 ½” x 12 ½”.

    11) Sew one 7 ¼” Fabric E triangle and one 7 ¼” Fabric D triangle together to make one ED triangle. Sew one 7 ¼” Fabric F triangle and one 7 ¼” Fabric E triangle together to make one FE triangle. Sew the ED and FE triangles together along the long sides to make one Unit 5 square (Fig. 13). The square should measure 6 ½” x 6 ½”. Repeat to make four Unit 5 squares total.

    12) Repeat Steps 4-5 and refer to Figure 14 for fabric identification, location and seam direction while using eight 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric D strips and sixteen 3 ½” Fabric E squares to make eight Unit 6 strips.

    13) Repeat Steps 4-5 and refer to Figure 15 for fabric identification, location and seam direction while using four 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric D strips and eight 3 ½” Fabric F squares to make four Unit 7 strips.

    14) Sew one 3 ½” Fabric D square to each end of one Unit 7 strip to make the top row. Sew one Unit 6 strip to each side of one Unit 5 square to make the bottom row. Sew the two rows together lengthwise to make one Block Three rectangle (Fig. 16). Repeat to make four Block Three rectangles total.

    15) Sew one Block One square to each side of one Block Three rectangle to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew one Block Three rectangle to each side of one Block Two square to make the middle row. Sew the three rows together lengthwise. Sew one 2 ½” x 30 ½” Fabric I strip to the top and to the bottom of the newly sewn block to make the Center Block (Fig. 17). The block should measure 30 ½” x 34 ½”.

    16) Repeat Steps 1-2 and refer to Figures 18 for fabric identification, location and seam direction while using seven of 4 ½” Fabric A squares and twenty-eight 2 ½” Fabric D squares to make seven Unit 8 squares.

    17) Repeat Step 16 and refer to Figures 19-24 for fabric identification, location and seam direction to make seven Unit 9 squares, seven Unit 10 squares, eight Unit 11 squares, seven Unit 12 squares, seven Unit 13 squares and seven Unit 14 squares.

    18) Follow Figure 25 and sew together twelve assorted 4 ½” units to make the Left Side Border. Repeat and follow Figure 26 to make the Right Side Border.

    19) Follow Figure 27 and sew together thirteen assorted 4 ½” units to make the Top Border. Repeat and follow Figure 28 to make the Bottom Border.

  • Quilt Assembly (refer to the quilt layout while assembling the quilt top)

    (Pay attention to the orientation of the blocks when con-structing the Center Block.)

    20) Sew one 1 ½” x 34 ½” Fabric J strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 1 ½” x 32 ½” Fabric J strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    21) Sew one 3 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric K strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 3 ½” Fabric E square to each end of one 3 ½” x 32 ½” Fabric K strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew the strips to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    22) Sew one 1 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric J strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 1 ½” x 40 ½” Fabric J strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    23) Sew one 2 ½” x 44 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 2 ½” x 44 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    24) Sew the Left Side and Right Side Borders to the left and right sides of the Center Block. Sew the Top and Bottom Borders to the top and to the bottom of the Cen-ter Block.

    25) Sew one 1 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 1 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    26) Sew one 1 ½” x 58 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 1 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

    27) Sew one 6 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric N strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew one 6 ½” x 68 ½” Fabric N strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block to make the quilt top.

    28) Layer and quilt as desired.

    29) Sew the seven 2 ½” x WOF Fabric E strips together, end to end with 45° seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press.

    30) Bind as desired.
