HOW TO GET TO THE CIRCUIT
BY CAR
We recommend you do not attempt to access the Circuit by car. Parking is extremely limited and only permitted vehicles with the correct accreditation are allowed to access the Circuit parking zones. Parking nearby to the Circuit will be by special resident permit only.
BY TRAM
Recommended form of transport to the Circuit. We will be using the Tram from Southern Cross or Flinders Station to Canterbury Road or St Kilda Road.
BY TAXI
Taxis are permitted for drop off & pick up: Gates 1, 2, 4, 8 & 10.
BY BUS
Some regular bus services will take you to bus stops close to the Circuit. A shuttle bus service operates between Crown and Gate 1 at peak times morning and afternoon. Additional bus services along Tram Route 96 and 112 are provided to replace those services on Saturday and Sunday. A shuttle service from Gate 1 to Arts Centre operates each day at the conclusion of activities for a $5 ticket price.
GETTING AROUND
Access through Gate 1, located on Canterbury Road. You will be asked to proceed to the general public entrance where you’re bags will be searched. Once inside the Circuit you will make your way to the Schumacher Premium Grandstand via the Legends Lane. There is a pedestrian walkway that will take you to the stand.
An alternative point of entry is from the Tram stop on St Kilda Road (Lorne Street) giving access via Gate 9.
Your bags will be searched and you will use the pedestrian walkway towards Gate 10, passing the helipad and arriving at the Schumacher Grandstand.
Another point of entry is Gate 10 located off Lakeside Drive. This is the easiest point of entry for taxis or drop offs. Gate 10 can be accessed via Fitzroy street.
Estimated walking time; 15-20 to the Grandstand.
PREMIUM GRANDSTAND PROGRAMME
The SPG Moments Premium Grandstand Programme is a step above regular grandstand experiences and is only available to SPG members via the SPG Moments programme.
The grandstand is located outside and can be open to the elements. As with any motorsport event there can be a great deal of noise so please be prepared. You have a dedicated seat and the SPG Moments tickets will be located together so you will be amongst friends.
We have an experienced F1 host on hand to support your requirements so please feel free to speak to them and test their knowledge.
MEET UP POINT / TICKET DELIVERY
We will meet as a group at The Westin Melbourne Melbourne on Collins Street and travel to the Circuit by tram.
Your tickets will be distributed at the Westin Melbourne Hotel prior to departure.

THE 2014 SEASON
The MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS Team approach the 2014 season full of anticipation. This is the year the team have been building towards and hopes are high for success. The team has reorganised over the winter of 2013 / 2014 with a number of senior management departures and arrivals.
The 2014 sees more changes to the technical regulations thanin any season in recent memory:
• Engines are smaller (1.6L v6 turbo-charged from 2.4L normally aspirated)
• Fuel is limited per car per race to 100kg• Increased use of energy recovery (5 times more)• Narrower front wing and lower chassis front resulting in
visibly different solutions by teams up and down the Pit Lane
• New tyre compounds to increase the chances of overtaking, reduce the dangers of exploding tyres and reduce the amount of rubber that comes away from the tyres (marbles)
In pre-season testing Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg led the way completing more laps than any other team.
