Nashville Chapter In the Community

A I M - I R S

AIM-IRS members Sabrina Baskin, Henry Wilson, Chris Norwood, and Vickie Green volunteered to help assist the Wilson County CASA Chapter with their 4th Annual Pancake Breakfast held at Lebanon High School on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Whether it was washing dishes, cooking pancakes, or portraying the Easter Bunny, this team was greatly appreciated for their volunteer work and the CASA Director hopes to receive their help for future pancake breakfasts. The Wilson County chapter of CASA hosts an annual pancake breakfast fundraiser every year to raise money for the organization. This is one of three fundraisers held each year.

What is CASA? CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. The National CASA Association supports a network of nearly 950 state and local programs. Many communities have individual chapters. CASA advocates have been standing up for children since 1977. Their work is led by respected experts in child welfare.

What is CASA’s mission? The National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, together with its state and local member programs, supports and pro-motes court-appointed volunteer advocacy so every abused or neglected child in the United States can be safe, have a permanent home and have the opportunity to thrive.

CASA’s vision is of a world where every abused or neglected child is given the op-portunity to thrive in a safe and loving home.

Are you interested in being a volunteer? Please visit casaforchildren.org for more information on volunteering and local chapters.

Celebrate Mothers on Mother’s Day

How God Created Mother

God took the fragrance of a flower,

The majesty of the tree,

The gentleness of morning dew,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The beauty of a twilight hour,

The soul of a starry night,

The laughter of the rippling brook,

The grace of a bird in flight,

Then God fashioned from these things,

A creation like no other,

And when his masterpiece was through,

He called it simply…...Mother!

Remember the Fallen

Remember those who served before.

Remember those who are no more.

Remember those who serve today.

Remember them as we eat and play.

Remember our protectors-

who are not home today.

Remember them all on Memorial Day.

By: Emily Toma

Today we honor those who have given the greatest

sacrifice for our freedom!
