1:2 Tx Protection Switch Panel is a logic panel used insatellite communications earth stations. The systemmechanism operates waveguide and coaxialswitches to operator desired positions. Themechanisms provide switching operations for LNA’sand fiber link units in an automatic (unattended) ormanual (local and or remote) mode. During normaloperation of the protection switch panel, two activeunits are connected between the antenna and theindoor equipment. The standby units are connectedto input and output dummy loads. In the event of afailure of an active unit, the standby chain is switchedin place of the malfunctioning chain when the panelis in automatic mode. The malfunctioning unit is thenconnected to a dummy load.

The Specialty MICROWAVE Block Downconverterassembly is used as a test device on Satellite AccessPoint (SAP) antennas located worldwide. The BDCassembly down converts a Ka band signal, 17.7 GHzto 19.7 GHz, from the LNAs on either polarization ofthe antenna to between 950 and 2150 MHz using ahigh and low band block downconverter. The usercan select a signal from either the LNA, and/or theBDC. The BDC assembly can allow the user tocommunicate via Ethernet optical interface to theAntenna Control Unit (ACU). The BDC assembly alsoincludes an NTP server with GPS antenna that cancommunicate with the Antenna Control Unit.
