SPECIAL RELEASE

This special release presents data on registered births, deaths and marriages by

sex and city/municipality in the Province of Cavite occurring in May 2019. The report was obtained from the certificates that were transmitted by the city/municipality civil registrars to the Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing.

Province of Cavite registered a total of 5,652 live births on the month of May 2019. For the reference period, male births were higher by 74 than female births. Among the cities/municipalities in the province, City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest live births with a total of 981 babies that was shown on Table 1. However, lowest registration was recorded on the municipality of Ternate having 8 live births that was equivalent to 0.14% of the registration. Thus, as stated on Figure 1, male births comprised of 50.65% while female births covered the remaining percent of 49.35% percent. As shown in figure 2, there were more illegitimate babies born in the province covering 65% of the registration. In addition, majority of the registration in the province were timely that was shown on figure 3. Timely registration covered 76% of the registered live births or a total of 4,312 while late registration covered 24 percent. For the whole month of May 2019 highest rate of late registration was came from the City of Dasmarinas having 221 late registrations. As presented on Figure 4, births attended by Physician were the most common practice applied in the province. It was recorded on 2,410 live births or equivalent of 43% of the total births. It was followed by midwives and Hilot/Unlicensed Midwife with total delivery of 2,384 and 711 respectively. Hence, in Figure 5 it was shown that about 83% of the total births were born in the hospital with a total of 4,698 babies. Only 948 babies were born on their own house/home.

For May 2019, the Province of Cavite recorded a total number of 1,613 fatalities. Male deaths outnumbered female deaths by one hundred forty one. Based on Figure 1, male deaths comprised of 54.37% total deaths or a registered total of eight hundred seventy seven . However, female deaths covered the remaining 45.63% or a total of seven hundred thirty six deaths. As presented on Figure 7, majority of the deceased were died on their own home/house comprising 68% or a total number of 1,103 deaths. Thus, on figure 8 majority of the deceased in the province of Cavite were attended by None with a total of 554 deaths or equivalent of 34% percent. It was followed Public Health Officer covering the 20% or a total of 329 deaths. Almost all of the deceased in the province was documented or registered timely covering 99% of the registration. There were only 15 deaths recorded as late, eight of those was came from municipality and city of Dasmarinas, Gen Trias, Imus, Naic Tagaytay City, Tanza, Ternate and Gen Mariano Alvarez. For the reference period, City of Dasmariñas registered the highest rate of deaths with 347 casualties. It was followed by General Trias and Tanza with 147and 89 deaths. On the other hand, municipality of Gen Emilio Aguinaldo ,Magallanes and Mendez Nunez got the least number of deaths. The said municipality only recorded 8 casualties.

During the reference period, the Province of Cavite recorded a total of 1,190 marriages. Of which, 98% were timely registered while remaining 2% was documented late. Highest late registration was posted in the City of Dasmarinas, having 7 late registrations for the month of April 2019.

This period, majority of the wedding vows were conducted at the Church. More than half 32% of the wedding ceremonies were held at the Other Religious Rites. For the whole month of May, Church wedding was comprised of 39% of the total marriages. The said ceremony was the prevalent practice applied in the province of Cavite. It was followed by Other Religious Rites with 382 marriages or equivalent of 32 percent while on Office Mayor/Judge there were 352 marriages or equivalent of 29 percent. Municipality of Silang had the most number of couples who undergone the process of nuptiality with a total number of one hundred seventy four marriages. It covered the 14% of the total marriage in the province. It was followed by City of Bacoor having a total number of 150 marriages.

However, only ten wedding ceremony was conducted in the municipality of Gen Emilio Aguinaldo and Ternate. It was said to be the lowest marriage of the province on the month of May 2019.
