REPORT: PW -55 -15
RECOMMENDATION.
THAT the Council of the Municipality receives report PW 55 -15 as information.
AND THAT Council award the contract for the rehabilitation of the west sloped face ( lake
side) of the west breakwater to East Elgin Concrete Forming in amount of $876,870 exclusiveof HST.
REPORT:
At the June 81, 2015 meeting of Council, staff were instructed to go to public tender for therehabilitation of the west sloped face ( lake side) of the west breakwater. This work wouldcomplete the restoration work of the west breakwater. As a result, tenders were invited and
advertised publically on Thursday June 111', 2015.
Staff would note that 8 plan takers picked up tenders and 2 contractors provided bids at theclosing of the tender at 11 :00am on June 171i, 2015. Tenders were opened publically at 11: 05on June 171. Tender results are appended to this report for Council' s information.
The low bid was received from East Elgin Concrete Forming ( EECF) in the amount of876,870. The engineers estimate to complete the work is $ 900,000.
Staff would note that EECF has provided excellent quality workmanship on the work that hasbeen completed to date on the project. There has been extensive effort put forth by thecontractor to ensure that the work is completed on schedule and timelines are met
Given the foregoing, staff would recommend that the work be awarded to EECF.

HEREAS Council deems it to be in the public interest;
OW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE MUNICIPALITYOFENTRAL ELGIN ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
The Mayor is hereby authorized on behalf of The Corporation of the Municipality ofCentral Elgin to execute a Lease Agreement with 1788764 Ontario lnc., 350 EdithCavell Boulevard.
A copy of the Agreement shall remain attached to and form part of this By-law.
READ a FIRST and a SECOND TIME this 19"‘day of June, 2015.
