Special days in Poland

Epiphany – 6th January This day is off from work. Every Catholic goes to church. They get chalk and write K+M+B

and year on their door. K+M+B means names of three kings – Kacper, Melchior and Baltazar.

This dayy we take off decorations from Christmas tree.

Ester - April (movable Feast)

People go to church and then, they have special breakfast with family. Traditional dishes are

easter eggs and sour rye soup with sausages and eggs. Children look for gifts outside.

Ester Monday – day after Ester

In this day everybody pours the water.

Day of flag – 2nd May

This day is off work. In this day everybody hangs flags outside houses.

Contstitution Day – 3rd May

3rd May is an anniversary of constitution in Poland. This

constitution was second in the world and the first in Europe.

Valentines Day – 14th February

All lovers give presents and go to dinner with their beloved ones.

Shrove Tuesday

All Poland eats donuts.
