    Contractor shall be re3uired to produce if re3uired manufacturers test certificate for theparticular f materials supplied b' him. The tests carried out shall be as per the relevant-ndian Standards.

    2.1.1 ll dimensions and siBes of materials and e3uipment given in the tenderdocument are commercial metric siBes.

    2.1.0 n' weights, or siBes given in the tender having changed due to metricconversion, the nearest e3uivalent siBes accepted b' -ndian Standards shall be

    acceptable without an' additional cost.

    4.1.1 Contractor shall maintain one set of all drawings issued to him as referencedrawings. These shall not be used on site. ll+important drawings shall bemounted on boards and placed in racks indexed. o drawings shall be rolled.

    1 .1.0 Tests shall be performed in presence of the Site 5ngineer8 Consultant.

    1 .1. !n completion of all works, contractor shall demolish all stores, remove allsurplus materials and leave the site in a broom clean condition, failing which thesame shall be done at Contractor?s risk and cost.

The decision on the actual cost given b'the 5mplo'er shall be final and binding on the Contractor.

    membrane shall be done ver' carefull' so as other portion of water proofing is notdamaged. !n completion of work at such place the water proofing membraneshall be made good and ensured that the opening8 cutting is made full' waterproof as per specifications and details of water proofing approved b' rchitects.

    4. IS CODES

    -n case of an' Class of work for which there is no such specs. ;elevant -S Codes,manufacturer?s specs. and instructions of the rchitect shall be followed. The

    rchitect shall be free to choose an' of the specifications mentioned above.

    1(. DR )INGS

    5ver' Tender shall return the set of detailed drawing enclosed with Tender, dul'signed. 6owever, the successful tender would be supplied two sets of drawingsfree of cost, but subse3uent prints will be charged ;s.0/8+ per unit.

    11. S M(2ES

    The samples for feasible item8accessor'8fixture, re3uired for 7ire suppressionworks, shall be made8procured as per instruction, and submitted for the approval

    of the rchitect. The approved samples shall be kept and preserved on site at alltimes. ll procurement thereafter shall be based on these approved samples andthe contractor will be re3uired to perform all work under this Contract inaccordance with these approved samples. The rchitect reserves the right tomodif'8alter an' details8material. The contractors shall not be paid an' extraamount on this account.

    10. E5TR ITEMS

    #ercentage of !verhead and #rofits in respect of extra items will be based on thebasic cost of materials, taxes, cartage, labour etc. and 0(F shall be paid towardsoverheads and contractor?s profit. Suppl' and installation of extra items, if an',re3uired shall be sub$ect to prior approval of its rate and make b' the5mplo'er8Consultant.

    1 . DDEND /CORRIGEND

    ddenda8Corrigenda to the T5 @5; documents ma' be issued prior to the dateof opening of the T5 @5; to clarif' or to the effect modification in the design ofC! T; CT terms. The Tender shall suitabl' take into consideration suchaddenda8corrigenda while submitting this T5 @5;. 5ach addenda8corrigendawill be issued in triplicate. The Tender will return the duplicate cop' of theaddenda8corrigenda dul' signed in confirmation of its documents and retain thethird cop' for his reference stamped on each page b' the Tender and shallbecome part of the T5 @5; documents.

    The Contractor shall hand over the S-T5 to the 5)#A!H5; after completing allworks as envisaged in the ! CT; CT and additions8 deletions therein. Theworks shall be deemed to have been virtuall' completed onl' after all defects inmaterial 3ualit' and workmanship etc. occurring before the date of handover to

    the emplo'er, have been satisfactoril' set right. The certificate of =irtualCompletion shall not be issued nor shall the work be considered complete till theContractor has removed from the premises on which the work has been executedand its surroundings, all scaffolding, sheds, surplus materials "except such whichare re3uired for rectification of defects if an'% rubbish and debris, and cleaned thefloors, commissioned all electrical points, oiled locks and fastenings, and handedthem over to the !wner or his representative and made the whole installation fitfor immediate use, to the complete satisfaction of the rchitect.

    12. DR )INGB INSTR6CTIONSB ME S6RMENTS

    ll work shall be done according to the drawings and instructions of the rchitect8his authorities representative and the Contractor shall arrange to testmaterials and 8or portions of the works at his own cost in order to prove theirsoundness and sufficienc'. -f after an' such test and in the opinion of the

    rchitect8his authorised ;epresentative, an' work or portion of work is found tobe defective or unsound, the Contractor shall pull down and re+execute the sameat his own cost. @efective materials shall be removed from the site within oneweek of receipt to of instruction for the same.

    >hile la'ing the pipe in trenches the bed of the trench should be level and freefrom sharp edged stones. >hile la'ing in rock' areas suitable bed of sand orgravel should be provided. The initial back fill about 1( to 1/ cm above the pipeshould be fine sand or screened excavated material. >here hard rock is met with,bed concrete )+1((, 1/ cm shall be provided, before putting in the softsand8gravel.

    Jointing of two pipes shall be done through elding. The method of butt+welding shall be as below

    a% The ends of the pipes to be $oined are cut verticall' at right angles with a finetoothed saw and trimmed with a file to make both ends smooth so that thepipes when pressed together are without leaving an' gap.

Then the twoends of the pipes are brought together face to face so that the molten portionscome into contact with each other. Then the pipes are drawn back ver'slightl' "without separating the $oined molten portion% and then again the pipes

    are pressed together with a moderate pressure of about "1 to 1./ kg8cm s3%.This ensures that an' air bubbles are s3ueeBed out. The pipes are held inthat position until the pipe+$oint cools off naturall' in atmospheric air. >hen aperfect $oint is made, the rims cohere in such a wa' that there is onl' a ver'fine slight depression between the two rims. -f the top surface of the rim is tooflat, it will be because the pipe is overheated. -f there is too much ofdepression "groove% between the rims, the pipe is under+heated. The rimsshould not be cut off or erased from the $oints. lso, correct alignment of thepipes will help in $oining the pipes perfectl', as otherwise there will bereduction in the area of the $oining surface rendering the $oint weak andimperfect.
