    Speaking Tips For IELTS

    Speaking part-1 (4-5mins)Introduction + two topics

    Topics:hometown/ neighborhood

    Work Study Family Friends Sports Food Hobbies

    Mainly:pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary,

    grammar:present tense or future tense while

    speaking test thats better (mostly)

    Fluency:words using like firstly , secondly ,finally

    Vocabulary:good, bad those are low level

    words avoid those words while speaking

    Dos: (part-1 speaking)

    Confident, good well, friendly, eye contact

    (look at)

    Excitement: more important,

    Body language important

    Vocabulary: food= cuisine

    Friends = acquaintance

    (if u confident u can use vocabulary )

    I like (dont use these word) instead of that u

    can use (I enjoy, I really love that, I prefer )

    Practice more part 1 (make a notes its easy)

    Donts: (part-1 speaking)Speak with a monotone

    Give yes/no answers

    Speak too quickly, slowly

    Speak quietly

    Worry about perfect English( this is imp: dontpanic about ur English)

    Speaking part-2 ( 3mins)

    a) Look at question cardb) Talk for 1-2mins

    Examinerwill not ask you.

    You speak for full 2mins

    Topics like:

    Fav-teacher , book, music, movies, television

    program, historical place , city

    Ex:describe a museum that you have visited.

    You should say :

    Where it is?

    Why you went there ?

    What you particularly remember?

    Special day , special trip, journey life , sporting

    event ?

    These are u can discuss while speaking part-2.

    (who, when, where , why ) u can cover these

    questions .

    Dos:(part-2)

    Take notes / write keywords (1min)

    (they can give to u pencil paper )

    Cover every point.

    Point to point as you can talk

    Use personal experience or else ( u can lie)

    Expanduse sentence

    Organize speech like - intro, body, and

    conclusion.

    Imagine the object, person, place.

    Use introductory phases:

    Ex:I want to talk about, I like to talk about,

    I am going to talk about.

    Use transitions: (help to organize)

    Ex:firstly, secondly, thirdly, finally.

    Then , next , after that .

    Firstly we went some place like that !Speak loudly

    Practice talking 2mins (in front of mirror or

    else friends)

    Donts: (part -2)

    Memorize answers (not good idea)

    Write too much. (1-2 words per point thats

    good)

    Panic

    Focus on one point

    Use boring words- good, bad. (Dontuse)

    (excited enthused use this words )

    Give short answers

    Go off topic

    Worry about you accent

    (Take on timer for practice speaking)

    Speaking part -3 (4-5mins)

    Interview

    Predict, analyze, compare, give opinionfuture

    Ex:if we talk teacher in part-2 then it will

    continues to education part -3.

    Topics:

    Technology, education, sports.

    Environment, TV influence , shopping ,

    transportation ..etc .

    Ex:how are education priorities different from

    those in the past.

    Dos:(part-3)

    Listen for keywords in the question

    Ask if you dont understand

    Give detail, examples, reasons

    Stick to the topic

    Think you will do well (+vely)Build vocabulary before hand

    Related question to own life.

    Use to many : umms , ahhms , yaa .. like

    Use I think too muchUse Thats a good question more than once

    Worry if you have an accent.

    Worry if you have make mistakes.
