Student Startup and Innovation Centre, Anand Pharmacy College celebrated the

“INNOVATION DAY" with the theme of "Sparking Techinnovation" on 15th October,

2019.

The celebration started with the screening of POC and pitching new ideas by 20

participant form across the colleges of Gujarat from the Pharmacy field. The screening

committee consisted of Mr. Utkarsh Patel, Mr. Hiral Prajapati, Dr. V.A. Patel (Ex-

Principal, A.R. College of Pharmacy & G.H. Patel Institute of Pharmacy) and Dr. Mukesh

Gohel (P.G. Director, Anand Pharmacy College, Anand). The ideas were screened based

on their contribution to bridge the gap in existing science and the market applicability.

The screening was followed by demonstration of videos pertaining to innovations

occurring in the college premises to the students of first year B. Pharm and M. Pharm

followed by presentation on “National Innovation and Start-up Policy 2019” by Ms. Ruby

Christian (Assistant Professor, Anand Pharmacy College, Anand) to acquaint students

with the benefits of the policies to them for startup, how they can pitch in their ideas and

how they will be funded for the same.

Over 120 1st year B. Pharm and M. Pharm students attained this session oriented towards

Student Startup and Innovation policy.

Thakkar showed demonstration of

modified dissolution apparatus for

medicated chewing gum and concept of

lab scale automated dissolution machine

equipped with GMS technology. There

were also felicitated for being an

encouraging role model for other juniors.

The next to follow was Slogan competition organized on the following theme:

e-waste management

Slogan competition was actively participated by 58 students. Winners were felicitated by

exciting prizes

To mark the ending of celebration, members of screening committee - Mr. Hiral Prajapati

and Mr. Utkarsh Patel delivered motivational talk stating the importance of innovation

in current era and how a correct idea can turn the tables.

The entire event was coordinated by Ms. Ruby Christian under the guidance of Dr. Purvi

Shah (SSIP coordinator) and Dr. Tejal Gandhi (Convenor)
