Development of the car started in September 2012. Lucas di Grassi was appointed as official test driver,

constructed by (ercedes G) and motors built by Siemens . 'he car was used for the official promotion video
and for demonstrations in host cities.
*n the first of +ovember 2012, (cLaren !lectronic Systems was announced to provide the electricmotor , transmission and electronics for ormula !. $ % 'he ormula ! organisation ordered 2 cars from Spar-
acing 'echnology. or this order Spar- partnered with well renowned formula car manufacturer Dallara .$/%
(ichelin was announced as e clusive tyre supplier on (arch 2 , 201&. *n (ay 1/, 201& enault was
announced as technical partner of Spar- acing 'echnology. enault s e perience in the enault 3.!. "3ero

ormula ! unveiled the design of the Spar-5 enault S '601!.
