Dear AIESECers,
On behalf of Organizing Committee team, it is an amazing honor for us to organize the Spark Conference 2014 in Thailand. We are proudly inviting you to one of the Most Powerful Conference in South East Asia, where more than 150 AIESECers both locally and internationally meet at 23rd-26th of October 2014. The amazing OC-Team is working hard for the conference that would create a memorable experience for all of you. This year Spark Conference in a theme of "Built To Last" is expected to bring you chances to raise strategic and functional awareness to grow your entity, empower leadership, enlarge network, and most amazing part is to giving award to the Best AIESEC Entity in Thailand that would further motivate member to build our community stronger and lasts! 3 INTRODUCTION
Formerly known as Siam, Thailand is a country at
the center of the Indochina peninsula in Southeast
Asia.
The politics of Thailand is currently conducted
under The National Council for Peace and Order
(NCPO) is the junta ruling Thailand, following the 2014
Thai coup d'état. On 22 May, the military deposed the
government and formed the NCPO to rule the
country. The junta censored the broadcasting system
in Thailand, repealed the constitution, and arrested
members of the Thai cabinet. The traditional Thai
greeting, the wai, usually coinciding with the spoken
word "sawasdee khrap" for male speakers, and
"sawasdee ka" for females.

Sport Muay Thai or "Thai boxing" is a native form of
kickboxing and Thailand's national sport.
Climate The weather in Thailand is generally hot
and humid across most of the country throughout
most of the year. While Thailand’s seasons are
generally divided into the hot season, cool season,
and rainy season, in reality it’s relatively hot most of
the year. During the conference period, at the end of
October it will be winter/cool season. Approx. 20-25C
Food Thai cooking places emphasis on lightly
prepared dishes with strong aromatic components
and a spicy edge. It known for its complex interplay of
at least three and up to four or five fundamental taste
senses in each dish or the overall meal: sour, sweet,
salty, bitter and spicy.

AIESEC in Thailand:
AIESEC was founded in Thailand in 1966, as
cooperation between AIESEC in Japan and
Professor Dr. Puey Ungpakorn and it was officially
welcomed into the AIESEC network in 1968. How
many years now? 48 years. In Thailand we have 4 local official branches: AIESEC in Assumption University
AIESEC in Bangkok University
AIESEC in Chulalongkorn University
AIESEC in Thammasat University
And 4 expansions: AIESEC in Kasetsart University
AIESEC in Mahidol University International College
AIESEC in Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology

9 INTRODUCTION
Spark is one of the biggest AIESEC conferences
in the SEA region. It happens every year in the
purpose of getting AIESECers more engaged to
the social and economical issues to the ASEAN
region. This year, we are having Spark with 2
conferences, Spark for AIESECers and Thailand
Youth Voice for externals. Spark this year will be
to provide the knowledge and context for
AIESECers in SEA to Achieve 2015 and become
the right Gen2015.

We will host during this conference, leadership
sessions, new strategic sessions, and of course
external workshops to align ourselves with the
external world and environment. The conference
Theme this year is Built to Last , as we see Spark
as a turning Conference to build the best
generation of Leaders for AIESEC and for AIESEC
in Thailand. We, AIESEC in Thailand, Welcome
you to this wonderful event.

17 VISA INFOS &
If you’re from one of the following 48
countries and arrive by air, you’re eligible for
a free 30-day stay in Thailand. However, if you
arrive by an overland crossing you will be
granted only 15 days. There is no fee for a
visa exemption. Thailand also holds bilateral
agreements on visa exemption for holders of
diplomatic, official and ordinary passports for
a visit of not exceeding 90 days with Brazil,
the Republic of Korea and Peru.
Thai visa upon arrival
If you are not eligible for a visa
exemption or if you intend to stay in Thailand
you may be eligible for a visa upon arrival.
The visa cost is currently 1000 baht. These
visas are for the purpose of tourism and for a
period of up to 15 days. Visitors who enter the
Kingdom with Visa on Arrival generally
cannot file an application for extension of
stay except in special cases such as illness
which prevents them from traveling.
PROCESS 18
For those who are not eligible for a visa exemption or visa
upon arrival, you will have to obtain your visa with the Royal
Thai Embassy prior to your visit. Same goes for those who plan
to stay in Thailand for a longer amount of time. A tourist visa is
valid for 60 days and can be extended for a further 30 days
once you are in-country, giving you up to a 90-day per entry.
