Christmas • At Chrismas we like to decorate our houses with a nativity

scene (in Spanish "Belén") and with a Christmas tree. In Spain, Christmas holidays are from the 22nd December to 7th January.

• We also decorate the streets with a lot of bright lights.

New Year's Eve

• We celebrate the last night of the year with the family. We eat a lot of praws and specially meat and fish.

• When it is twelve o'clock we eat twelve grapes, one for each stroke of the clock. And we toast with champagne. We follow the clock of "La Puerta del Sol" in Madrid.

History of the grapes

• One year, Spanish farmers cultivated a lot lands of grapes. And the Spanish thought that they could eat at New Year's Eve to celebrate the twelve months of the year.

The three Magic Kings

• On the 6th January, the three Magic Kings come to the houses and they bring presents.

Three Magic Kings sweet

• On 6th January evening we eat a special sweet that in Spanish is called " Roscón". We usually eat it with hot chocolate. This sweet hides small presents and if you find one bean you have to pay the "Roscón".
