To ask where someone is from, use the appropriate form of the verb ser (to be) with de (of/from)
¿Eres de Colombia? Are you from Colombia? No, soy de Argentina. No, I am from Argentina Ella es de Colombia She is from Colombia
Ser is the infinitive form of the verb to be. Note that in English, the infinitive usually includes the word “to”. For example: to sing, to read, to dance, etc.. Here are some of the forms of the verb ser:
