User Journey Wireframe ProposalAs part of the project ‘Beyond the finish
line’, I as a designer worked with poten-
tial enterprise ‘Treemendus’ who up-
cycles old furniture to sell and hold the
workshops.
As a research, I observed the workshop
they held and see and talked to partici-
pants.
I found there are 3 types of customer
who engaged in `treemendus’ so far.
A want vintage styled furniture
B want to reuse existing old furniture
C love handcraft itself
And relatively ‘Treemendus’ haven’t
meet the need of ‘B’ and ‘C’ people
I redesigned the existing logo and website
which had been only online shop to show
the finished furniture to sell. Since tree-
mendus team wants to emphasize the role
of creating the local community and their
pursuit of sustainability, I brought upcycle
tutorials and the easy applying process in
front page for the people B and C.
We agreed with creating mobile App, cause
both of treemendus and users are more
familiar with smart phone than web. And
people might be able to upload the picture
of their old furniture to upcycle. It’s especial-
ly for ‘B’ and ‘C’ user to customize the design
of furniture to be upcycled by treemendus
or himself/herself.
In order not to make all types of
users miss I carefully considered the
journey of all types of user.
As a result. I could propose a clean and
playful mobile application, ‘Design Your
Upcycle’.

Otonari network is a service aiming to let people know an existence
of single elderly of their next door. In this service, people can see an
a plant pot on the door of single elderly, which is grown by the elderly.
People can recognize not only the existence but current condition of
the elderly, which encourage people to keep taking attention to single
elderly in general sense.
OTONARI network Plants on the door let neighbors know an existence of the single elderly, which is aiming to prevent single el-derly from ‘lonely death’ in Japan

QUALITATIVE RESEARCH INSIGHTS PROPOSAL
We interviewed an official and volunteering people who regularly visit the
single elderly in Chiba to find current governmental measure to prevent
kodokushi in chiba-shi.
Since Japanese elderly tend to avoid relying on their family, but keep working
and live alone, neighborhood is fundamental to keep them socially connected.
And We found there are lack of general sense of communication between
neighborhood; Only way to recognize any bad situation of single elderly in the
door is to find several symptoms around the door such as piled new paper or
neglected laundry. So, our Design challenge was “how to improve this kind of
‘indicators’ to show something about elderly to people outside”.
We did ideation together and think which idea we go for and decided a plant
pot which I seggested. we set a Persona of japanese male single elderly to
understand the situation in their context. And I drew Service Blue Prints, and
Strory Boards to make the service visible.

As a part of masters course “qualitative research” in
chiba university, we four international students focused
on the increasing issue of kodokushi (孤独死) which
refers single elderly’s “lonely death”.
Through multiple qualitative researches we found there
is need an indicator for neighbourhood to recognize
the existence and current condition of the single elderly
indoor so that people could keep taking attention.
From the group research and ideations i suggested
otonari network. In this service , the elderly grow a given
plant in front of his door as a symbol of single elderly’s
residence. It also represents the current condition of the
elderly, cause it is grown by the elderly.

Persona & Story Boards
The tree is a tangible platform to talk about practical issue regarding
to Scotland’s Independence. When people see the tree filled with
twit in the station they start to think and talk about “what will hap-
pen to us if scotland becomes independent?”, and add a new twig by
retwitting one of the twigs to share their opinion.
#IFINDI : If Scotland becomes independentPhysical platform to talk about a social issue
User Experience, Qualitative Research
Rhino, After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere Pro
As a research I interviewed two different types of people,
one who are extremely positive on the independence of
scotland, want to talk to people about their perspectives
and the others who are ordinary people in public station
who are not really interested in this issue and don’t think it
relevant to their real-life. So they rarely make conversation
about this issue and hesitate to say yes or no.
From the research, I realized it’s more accessible way of
expressing opinion for people to answer to this question
“what will happen to us if scotland becomes independent?”
rather than saying Yes/No.
Aiming to encourage people to start to think and talk
about the issue, I defined my design challenge as below,
Required to have:
Platform to talk about practical issue regarding to Scot-
land’s Independence.
Nice to have:
Physical, Huge and Real-time Platform in public open space
such as Central Station.
My concept is “People complete the mind map ”
which means the conversation gets more concrete
and closer to our real-life, as the citizens add their
opinion on previous one. For this concept, I came up
with a tree as a shape of the physical platform, which
reminds me of tangible and huge mind map.
Every kinds of citizens in station can see the tree
that is filled with tweets and add a new twig by ret-
witting one of them and you can see the tweet you
sent right then and there. Twigs will be updated by
the newest tweet soon and participants will receive
retweets of their tweet as well.
Research - Don’t think the independence of Scotland relevant to our life
Insights -Need a tangible platform to talk about the issue in “Real-Life Level”
Concepts -Draw our own mind map about “What will happen to us in independent Scotland?”
FOOD BUDDY DIARY User Experience, Interface Photoshop, Illustrator
As part of a design project for the new cafeteria of GSA, I suggest ‘Food buddy diary’ in which the people who were on the same table at lunch is recorded and so you can connect to them afterwords, In order to get closer to students in different departments in the art school

Who did what the 88 min called golden time, in which it is
said that we had to actually rescue the people from singking
sewol ferry. The timeline table shows roughly four group of
people with different color includes (from below of table)
passengers. crews, the authorities in charge of rescue and
the governments 8:50 am 16 April 2014
The ferry sewol sank with 304 passengers
The lines between different level means communications
between different stakeholders, from the first distress call of
the passenger to the last messenge and communications be-
tween the authorities and marine police. We can see how
inefficiently the crews and the authorities communicated,
which resulted in the tragedy.

I visualized my facebook network using the languages they use and the connections between them. In this map, you can see a character of each clusters intuitively. For example, there’s no other color dot in yellow cluster, which means my japanese friends tend not to use foreign languages. On the other hand, in case of European students I met in KISD and GSA, a language doesn’t exactly match to a cluster, cause they are all from different countries and use US english which is not their original language.
