“FOR THE RESIDENTS, BY THE RESIDENTS”

Have a great month! March 2017

One Green Leaf

One leaf fell from a tall, tall tree

and subtly kissed gnarled roots beneath;

a lover’s kiss below sunned-sheath

of greenest leaves, a jubilee.

One spiraling leaf brought playful mirth

to sullen earth of trodden dirt.

A flight of hopeful shades of spring,

for hard, hard ground, an offering

One leaf dressed in a sparkling jade

glided with grace to green grass blades

and rested near a bubbling brook,

then waited for warm breeze that shook

its flirty skirt on green, green glade.

An arc of bright green canopy

warmed my heart in bluest mood,

and one leaf blew a kiss from you.

It twirled and pranced and floated by,

then with a touch it came to lie

green in my hand, a dear surprise.

Like emerald hills of Irish tales,

I marveled at how one leaf sailed

green In my hand that blue, blue day,

a kiss from you on Patty’s Day -

The gray clouds parted shining green,

a beauty like I’d never seen.

Kim and Kevin, new management, new ideas,

RECYCLE DINNER

March 11, 2017 (4 pm)

It’s that time of year again to thank all of you who place their paper and cans in back in the

RV section behind Brahman Drive.

We call this a “Recycle” dinner because the funds used to put on this dinner come from

recycling aluminum cans and newspaper and cardboard in our park. The containers are in

the storage lot. We did not have a “recycle” dinner last year because we did not have enough

funds. We urge everyone to use the recycling bins.

This event is FREE for all residents of Southfork Mobile Home Park. The dinner will be

Bratwurst sandwiches, Bag of chips, soda, Cake and Ice Cream. It will take place at the

clubhouse.

IMPORTANT:

A must is required for a sign-up so we know how many to expect and buy food for. So please

come and enjoy the friendship of neighbors and friends and this is our way of thanking

everyone for placing their cans and paper for recycling in the bins and this also helps to defer

any costs incurred during the year!

There were 7 tables of players and 3 full tables of finger food. Everyone brought a

feast of goodies including sandwiches, various entrees and desserts. Coffee was

served. Between games and during the games, everyone took advantage and

munched on all the goodies.

There was a lot of anxiety at first and everyone was quiet, but once everyone was

seated and the game started, you could hear the giggles, chatter, and laughter

starting, then the fun began.

Craig and Carol check in of the entrants and passing out the rules with seat

position's for each contestant. Both Craig and Carol Whitbeck did all the verifying

of the sheets and totaling them to make sure all was correct and to see who all the

winners were. I also want to thank Craig kept the coffee flowing, and helping with

the food tables where it was needed. Also, I want to thank all the contestants who

helped in the cleanup after the event.

Throw Back Southfork, 2009. Well I believe we

all recognize our HOA president, Tom Geyer and

his lovely bride Judy. Glad all is again well in the

Geyer home. Thanks for all you do.

Could that possibly be the Southfork Jammers at it

again? I believe it is. I believe there are also some Trashy

Tourists in that group. Aggie, Dixie, Mary Joe, Diane,

Shirley, yours truly, and Mel. Boy, we were good!

Jammers at it again, and those tourists,

Dixie, and could that be Marvin playing that wash basin

again. Love the overalls. Always a fun day!

To all those kind people who said a prayer, called to offer help, sent a

meal or who helped us out in any way when I wasn’t feeling well, Ron

and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

You’ll never know how much it meant to us and re-enforced our belief that Southfork is a great

place to live!

Farewell Friend

By now, some of you heard that Nancy Hite passed away on January 17,2017 at the Southern Pines

Nursing Home in New port Richey where she was for 4 weeks.

She was a wonderful friend to us and always put a smile on our faces. I called her nurse Nancy,

because she always knew what to do to help me and she loved feeding stray animals.

Nancy was the youngest of 10 children and she had 5 wonderful step-children that she called her

children along with 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Her family made sure she had the “green coffin” she wanted. So Bobby and I say farewell with heavy

hearts to Nancy and will always remember her with a smile.

With love, Tanya and Bobby

Christmas Card covers

Many thanks to all the residents of Southfork who contributed to the greeting

card cover collection. I counted close to 1300 covers. Special thanks to

those who only sent the covers--that saves me lots of time. Keep on

collecting. I will do this again as long as the mission needs them.

Carol Barnett....................

Remember to change your clocks on March 12th. Spring ahead by one hour!!!!!!!!
