the disease. Many people took the opportunity to write notes and then to tie them to one of the trees in the Earth Circle. The effect on those who participated was both heart warming and profound. Well done to all who participated and particularly to the Social Crux Com-mittee for this wonderful innovation.
College Valentine’s Social Our Grade 11 Committee ar-ranged a Valentine’s Social for the College learners on Wednesday 6 February. The social was held under the stars in the Earth Circle. This event is one of many fundraisers that will be organized by the Grade 11s to collect money for the Grade 12 Farewell Function which will be taking place towards the end of the year.

o.za Swiss Exchange Teacher
Ms Fabienne Meier a qualified teacher from Switzerland spent three weeks at the College. Ms Meier was on an exchange pro-gramme from the University of Zurich. Swiss teachers are required to upgrade their English qualifi-cations which involves spending time in an English speaking school. Thanks to Ms Tracey Osborn for hosting Ms Meier.
Prep School Invitational Gala
Swimmers from Laerskool Mariepskop, Hoedspruit Christian School and Southern Cross gathered at the SCS pool on Wednesday 6 February for an invitational gala. There were many good performances from the swimmers and the competition was stiff throughout. Many parents attended to support their children and in the end a very pleasant day of competitive swimming was held by all. We would like to thank all who supported the gala particularly our neighbouring schools for their participation.

opportunity of riding in both SANESA eventing qual-

and dressage.
