But it’s not just for bros … Mo Sistas sign up and commit to supporting the men in their lives while helping to promote men’s health at home, in the workplace and within their community.

Rallying around the moustache is a fantastic way to unite a university or school. Baked Salt Dough TagsPerfect for Christmas gift tags or decorations

These fancy schmancy salt dough tags will add pizazz to any Christmas gift or tree this festive season PLUS they’re fun and easy to make too! If you have stamps with individual letters, you could also use these as name cards.

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED:• 2 cups of flour • 1 cup of salt • 1 cup of water • festive cookie cutters • stamps • ink pad • skewer or straw to make hole in tags • ribbon • sand paper • craft varnish

HERE IS WHAT YOU DO:• Preheat oven to 100°C• Mix dry ingredients• Add water• Mix, or get a couple of helpers to

do the messy work• Roll to 5mm thick• Ink your stamp• Press stamp into dough• Press cookie cutter into stamped

dough• Place cut-out on a baking sheet• Using a skewer or straw, make a

hole in the top of the tag• Bake in 100°C oven for six hours• Remove from oven• Sand edges• Add ribbon and varnish

The real toffee apples 

Here is what you need:10 wooden skewers10 small Granny Smith apples500 g granulated sugar1 cup water5 ml vinegar45 ml golden syrup5 ml red food colouring

Preparation:Place a sheet of baking paper onto a baking tray. Insert a skewer into each apple, arrange the apples on the tray and set aside. Here is what you do:To Make the toffeePlace the sugar, water and vinegar into a saucepan over low heat and stir until all the sugar has dissolved. Then add the syrup and bring to the boil. Boil until the mixture reaches 150 °C on the sugar thermometer (this is the temperature test to follow when making hard crack caramel).If you don’t have a thermometer, test a little syrup by dropping a teaspoon of syrup into cold water. If it sets rock hard immediately it is ready. Remove from the heat and place the saucepan into a sink of cold water to cool the mixture. Once it has stopped bubbling, add the red food colouring and swirl around until

fully incorporated.

Dipping the apples:Dip the apples into the toffee syrup and swirl around until they are fully coated. Remove from the syrup and place onto the baking paper. Set aside until completely cooled and the toffee has hardened.

– dit is tog nie elke dag Kersfees nie!

Jy benodig:● ’n Basis vir die swart-bord-Kersfeeskrans. Ek gebruik sommer ’n stuk ou kartonplank (“hardboard”)● Metaalkleurige verf met ’n “textured” basis ● Kouelym of Mod Podge™ en vernis met ’n waterbasis● Blomraam (op karton gedruk) ● Verfkwas● Skêr

1. Trek ’n ligte sirkel waar die twee kleure mekaar ontmoet – dit is daar waar jy die blomme gaan plak.2. Verf die eerste laag. Jy kan énige verf of agter-grond gebruik. .3. Wend die swartbordverf met ’n sponsroller aan. Ongeveer drie lae sal voldoende wees en ’n mooi soliede dekking bied. 4. Rangskik die prente sodat dit ’n mooi sirkel vorm. Knip dit uit ... en plak! 5. Wanneer die gom droog

is, wend dan ’n lagie waterbasis-vernis oor die papierblom-krans aan om dit te beskerm. LET OP! Verf versigtig rondom die blompatroon se randjies. Jy wíl nie vernis oor die swartbordverf hê nie, aangesien dit die swartbord-effek belemmer.6. Nou kan jy die swartbord-Kerskrans

“Bewys  vir  my  waar  ek  dit  ontvang  het,  ek  het  dit  nie  ontvang  nie,  so  ek  is  nie  aanspreeklik  nie.”  ‘n  Sin  wat  ons  daagliks  hoor  wanneer  iemand  reageer  op  ‘n  aanmaning  en/of  dagvaarding.  Ons  het  dit  goed  gedink  om  die  lesers  in  kennis  te  stel  van  die  Konstitusionele  Hof  se  uitspraak  in  Kubyana  v  Standard  Bank  2012  (5)  SA  142  CC  wat  meer  duidelikheid  oor  hierdie  situasie  sal  skep.  Die  Hof  het  twee  vrae  gehad  wat  beantwoord  moes  word:  Wat  is  die  stappe  wat  'n  kredietverskaffer  moet  neem  om  te  verseker  dat  die  kennisgewing  van  wanbetaling  ‘n   verbruiker   bereik   voordat   'n   verbruiker   litigasie  mag   begin?   Tweedens,  wat  moet   die   kredietverskaffer   bewys   ten   einde   die   Hof   te  bevredig  dat  hy  sy  verpligting  behoorlik  nagekom  het  om  lewering  van  die  statutêre  kennisgewing  aan  te  bring.  In  terme  van  die  Nasionale  Kredietwet,  artikel  130  saamgelees  met  artikel  129  word  voorgeskryf  dat  kennisgewing  aan  ‘n  verbruiker  gestuur  moet  word  na  die  adres  wat  die  verbruiker  gekies  het,  synde  sy  domicilium  adres,  waar  hy  betekening  van  alle  kennisgewings  sal  ontvang.  Die  Konstitusionele  Hof  het  bevind  dat  indien  ‘n  kredietverskaffer  ‘n  kennisgewing  stuur  na  die  adres  wat  deur  die  verbruiker  gekies  is,  die  plig  op  die  verbruiker  rus  om  die  Hof  te  bewys  dat  hy  dit  nie  ontvang  het  nie  en  dat  dit  nie  ‘n  regsplig  op  die  kredietverskaffer  plaas  om  die  Hof  andersins  te  bewys   nie.   DIt   is   dus   belangrik   dat   verbruikers,   indien   hul   van   adres   verander,   dit   duidelik   en   skriftelik   onder   die   aandag   van   die  kredietverskaffer  moet  bring.  So  in  die  toekoms  verseker  dat  jy    nie  onverwags  betrap  word  waar  aksie  teen  jou  ingestel  word  sonder  dat  jy  kennis  dra  van  ‘n  dagvaarding  en  by  gevolg  vonnis  teen  jou  toegestaan  word  nie.

Ek kan amper nie glo dat ons voor die deur staan van ‘n nuwe jaar en oor ‘n paar dae dit Kersfees sal wees nie. Dit voel vir my soos ‘n maand gelede dat ons die nuwe jaar aangepak het met soveel verwagtinge en dinge wat jy wil doen en is dit amper skrikwekkend as jy terugkyk oor die jaar wat jy bereik het en/of jou nuwe jaarsvoornemens volvoer is. Soos die kinders groter word en baie ouers deur spanning gegaan het saam met die kinders en die eksamen die afgelope tyd, kan ‘n mens net wonder en vind dat die kinders groter word en ons ouer. ‘n Realiteit wat ons in ons gejaagde lewe nie altyd aan dink nie is wat gebeur wanneer jou tyd hier op aarde sy einde bereik. Oor hierdie tyd lees ons in baie koerante van die sterfte syfer op die paaie, min wetende dat daardie persone ook met ‘n groot verwagting op vakansie gegaan het, maar dat die lewe ‘n ander wending vir hul ingeslaan het. Eers wanneer hierdie gebeurtenis plaavind, en met jou gebeur, besef jy wat die waarde van goeie boedelbeplanning en ‘n behoorlike testament vir jou kan beteken. Die opgradering of die opstel van ‘n testament is ‘n lewenswyse wat saam met jou moet groei soos jou behoeftes ontwikkel. Belangrike dinge waarin jy aandag moet gee is byvoorbeeld,

wat gebeur met die minderjarige kinders as die ouers iets oorkom, waarheen sal hulle gaan en wie is hulle voog? Is jou boedel likied, met ander woorde, sal daar genoeg fondse in jou boedel wees om die beredderingskostes te betaal. In sommige gevalle is groot finansiële instellings die eksekuteur van die boedel en ek het al ondervind dat hierdie instellings nie die empatie met die erfgename toon as wat jy ‘n prokureur of ouditeur aanstel met wie jy gereeld korrespondeer om na die behoefte van jou erfgename om te sien. Om hierdie gemoedsrus te kan ervaar is dit belangrik dat jy jou testament gereeld moet opdateer en saam met jou finansiële beplanner ‘n behoorlike oudit doen om enige tekorte in jou boedel aan te spreek. Ek wens al die matrikulante voorspoed toe vir volgende jaar, hetsy waar jy verder gaan studeer of met ‘n loopbaan gaan begin. Aan die Graad 7 leerders wil ek ook sterkte toewens vir al waar hulle nou die hoërskool betree en ‘n stappie nader is aan die grootmenswêreld. Aan alle ouers en kliënte van ons firma wens ek ook ‘n geseënde Kersfees en voorspoedige nuwe jaar en mag 2015 ook jul grootste verwagtinge oortref. Seëngroete
