Southampton’s Parks

Southampton is probably thegreenest city in SouthernEngland. Close to the OldTown are seven Grade II listedformal parks, which have beenfully restored to their former

Victorian glory and have their traditional bandstand, rose gardens, elaborate fountains and imposing sculptureswhich evoke the city’s history and civic pride.

One of them is Central Parks, located in the heart of the city centre. There are plenty of activities to do here such

St Mary's Stadium

If you like football then youshould head over to St Mary'sStadium which is the home ofSouthampton F.C. Thestadium has undergone someconstructions between

December 1999 and July 2001 at a total cost of £32 million.

Ferries

There are two ferry services tothe Isle of Wight leaving fromTown Quay (Red Funnel andThe Hythe Ferry). Red Funnelhas two services to the Isle ofWight. The Red Jet is a high

speed service which carries foot passengers between Town Quay and West Cowes. The journey takesapproximately 25 minutes.
