The Alamo

This is the flag that flew over the Alamo.
There were 200 men who fought General Santa Anna and his army of 1,600 from Mexico at the Alamo. The battle lasted for 13 days. All of the men who fought at the Alamo are considered heroes. Their strength, courage and sacrifice Throughout the war for Texas independence from Mexico, the cry “Remember the Alamo” was heard.

San Jacinto Monument
The war for Texas independence ended on April 21, 1836 with the Battle at San Jacinto. The Texas soldiers bravely fought the Mexican soldiers and captured General Santa Anna. The Mexican general signed a peace treaty that said his army would leave Texas and established Texas as a free republic.
A monument was built to remember this important battle and historic event.
