Welcome and thanks to all the South Region Athletic Representatives and/or Associate Representatives or School Representatives, to all South School Administrations for all their efforts organizing Sports-related activities for their community and students. Please find enclosed the South Region Athletic Association Meeting date(s), the 1st Meeting Agenda, the 2017-2018 Athletic Calendar & various Athletic forms vital to running a safe, full and successful program of activities.

Welcome to another year of athletics. The sports calendar is almost set and nearly ready for action. This package has been put together to assist you in planning and organizing your athletic programs. If you have any question(s) or concerns with the information provided please contact any South Region Executive Member. Included are the following topics for your information. Please copy and post this booklet for the staff and distribute this information to interested coaches and teachers. A Good idea is to POST the Calendar in the Staff with title to help avoid conflicts with School Excursions and Athletics, in a prominent spot in the Staff-Room (ex. On the fridge door, etc…)

These individuals are responsible for organizing the complete Athletic Activity in collaboration with the Regional Athletic Executive & the Physical and Health Ed. Resource Teacher Guidelines to ensure the success of our various athletic Meets and Tournaments.

FINANCIAL SANCTIONTo encourage school commitment for events, each school MUST submit a signed cheque for $25.00 made payable to the South Region Athletic Association which has been cashed and is kept on deposit. In the event that a school is unable to fulfil their commitment, a second cheque for $25.00 will be necessary before competing in another activity.

Bring a $25 sanction cheque made out to the South Region Athletic Association ONLY if you withdrew from a sport last season past the posted deadline date listed in the 2016/17 booklet and have a balance owing.

Deadlines for withdrawal without penalty in 2017/2018 have been established and are included in this package.
