Our SMBC Student Ministry is continuing to thrive, and 2016 brings much excitement for blessings to come! We are enthusiastically anticipating our Youth Retreat at Miracle Farms in Brenham, Texas, the weekend of March 4-6, 2016! This retreat will be a fantastic trip for our students filled with lots of fun as well as a close encounter with God. Pray for God to move in the lives of both our students and adults on this retreat. This Spring & Summer is loaded with events so keep us in your prayers as we minister to our many students!

Our College & Career Ministry Students & Leaders were so blessed to be part of a wonderful worship experience at Passion 2016! It is quite humbling to participate in singing praises to our God in an arena filled to capacity with other Christians worshiping our Savior and God! Thousands of voices singing praise to Jesus was an awesome experience, and made all of us only imagine what the praise in heaven will be like! We were also blessed by many who brought excellent messages from God’s Word and who challenged our college students to grow and mature in their Christian walks!

Our College & Career Ministry Bible Study, now known as the EDGE, meets Sunday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the college and career classroom. There are many events planned including a Super Bowl Gathering, Game nights, and an upcoming bonfire trip to the beach! Special thanks to all those who support both our Youth and College Student Ministries! God is doing great things! In His service, Brian

Sunday, February 7 We will not have any Sunday evening activities that evening with the exception of some groups having fellowships during the Super Bowl. Outreach We are still looking for a few who are willing to make very short visits on Sunday evenings. You are needed to help our outreach efforts. Call myself or Kim to add your name to this very special team. Senior Single Sweetheart Banquet Invitations are being sent out to all single women (including widows) to the Deacon sponsored Senior Single Sweetheart Banquet on February 14. Reservations are necessary, so get yours turned in as soon as you can. If you don’t receive an invitation, call the office to reserve your place.

Personal Note Patti and I are moving to this area. We have sold our Baytown home and are remodeling a home in Deer Park. We can’t wait to be a part of this community 24/7! Jeff Fuqua

Church Pictorial Directory This month we will begin building our updated family pictorial directory. It will become a keepsake and a useful resource, and it will not be complete without you. Photography sessions will begin February 16. To make your photography appointment log into our website, visit the sign-up table at the Main Connection on Sunday mornings, or call the church office. You will receive a complimentary directory and an 8x10 portrait for participating. We are also collecting snapshots to create “activity pages,” so please send us your good photos of our church family in ministry action.
