Our school also has an outstanding display in Shoppingworld celebrating our school and the Community of Schools’ partnerships. Our thanks to Mrs Cleaver for her organisation of our display.

Congratulations to our Netball team for their outstanding team spirit at the Casino Gala Day. Our thanks to Miss Grayndler for coaching this team and our parents who supported with transport on the day.

Yesterday our Year 3 students attended an excursion to explore past and present changes in our community. The students were able to visit Schaeffer House, and the Grafton Art Gallery as part of this excursion. Our thanks to Mrs Wood for her organisation More information in next weeks’ newsletter.

Good luck to our Athletics team who are competing in the Clarence Zone Carnival tomorrow being held at Junction Hill. We have a squad of over 50 athletes attending. Our thanks to Mr Zacek, Mr Jones and Mrs Wood for their supervision of our team.

On Tuesday we had additional pinboards installed in the Primary classrooms, Reading Recovery room and Infants staffroom as part of our upgrades.

Parking: A reminder to all parents PLEASE do not park or pull up in BUS ZONES, and also please be respectful of our neighbours and DO NOT park over driveways in the mornings or afternoons. Last week I received a phone call from the ranger in regard to a complaint from a local resident. He is concerned cars are being parked too close to the corner in Muston Lane. Thank you for your co-operation and consideration in these matters. The Infants Athletics Carnival will be held on Friday 7th August. Jump Rope for Heart is for both Primary and Infants students and sponsorship money should be returned to school by mid August. A Jump Off will happen in both campuses in August- a date will be advised. Have a great week Mr Peter Hickey Principal

We had a great morning at PPP again this week. If you have a child attending Kindergarten in 2016 please contact the office on 66423388 and register them for this fantastic Kindergarten orientation program. We are now taking enrolments for 2016. We are participating in the Woolworth’s Earn and Learn Program again this year. We will be placing a box marked with our emblem outside Woolworths and another box will be at school. Every $10 spent at Woolworths you receive one sticker to be placed on a sticker sheet. When you have a completed sheet they can be placed in either box. We would appreciate your support. The more stickers we receive the more educational resources we will receive from Woolworths. During this term the K-2 campus will be initiating a Home Reading incentive called ‘Read to Succeed’ to complement the reading programs in classrooms. It is vital that parents and teachers work together as a team to encourage the development of reading skills in our students. Your child brought home a reading log sheet and an information sheet to explain the Home Reading process for this term on Monday. Throughout the term the school will be sending home additional resources to support your child/children with reading at home. Keep an eye out as this week your child will be bringing home their own bookmarks.

Market Day 27th August. Please mark this date on your calendar. Donations can be left at the office of: second hand books and Jars for tombola and/or items to put in the jars. Plants and fruit/produce can be brought in on the morning. We will also need volunteers to help with cooking for the Cake Stall. If you are able to help please contact Naomi on 0408 642 151 or email [email protected]. Trays for cooking can be collected from the canteens and need to be clearly marked with ingredients. We will need many helpers on the stalls eg. BBQ, drinks, canteen, craft and cake stalls. If you can help out on the day please contact Kelly Vickers on 0419 162 075.

The LIBRARY CAFE is up and running again. Everyone is welcome to visit the Library on Wednesdays from 3-4pm to use the computers, printer, photocopier and borrow & return books. We even have a selection of books in the Parents' Zone available for parents and carers to borrow, including parenting books and novels.

See you there!
