About us Our trained and experienced staff in conjunction with world class facilities will ensure an unforgettable Safari. Apache Hunts is situated 500km South West of Johannesburg and 60km West of Kimberley, the nearest major city. Barkley West is the nearest town 30km west of the Safari area. The Safari area comprises of 11 0 00ha, 5 adjacent farms each independently fenced with the relevant exemptions. The meandering Harts River flows for 17km through the farms, offering wonderful opportunities to observe animals and abundant bird life. The Kalahari renowned for being arid and hot is transformed into an oasis providing excellent hunting, fishing for carp, yellow fish and catfish and the ever popular wing shooting with an abundance of guinea-fowl francolin, geese and duck. The savannah velt, with acacia thorn, rosyntjie bush, vaalbush and thickets of black thorn support a wide variety of species, which include, Sable, Nyala, Waterbuck, Blesbuck, Duiker, Eland, Gemsbok, Hartebeest, Black Wildebeest, Blue Wildebeest, Impala, Kudu, Ostrich, Springbok, Steenbok, Warthog and the exotic Fellow Deer. A modern, thatched, 4 star (SA Tourism rating) Self Catering Lodge, comprising of 4 thatched chalets, each with 2 beds, a 3rd bed or double bunk can be added without compromising the spacious luxury. Each chalet has an en-suite bathroom consisting of a hand basin, shower and toilet. A fireplace to keep you warm on those crisp Kalahari nights. All linen is provided as well as extra blankets for the cold evenings. Stepping out your chalet you step onto a covered verandah with a view of the Harts River Valley. The central lapa of 200m² is thatched and enclosed by tarpaulin curtains, which can be opened or closed to keep out prevailing weather conditions. The lapa has a dining area, lounge, kitchen and pub with an inside braai / barbeque facility. The kitchen has all the cutlery and crockery for 12 guests as well as all the modern utensils one could expect to find in a modern home kitchen as well as a stove, microwave, fridge and deep freezer. On the outside there is an open braai / barbeque area in an enclosed kraal allowing you to relax around on open fire and enjoy the stars’, alternatively there is an open enclosed area with braai / barbeque facilities. Vehicles are safe in a covered parking facility for 4 vehicles. The camp is surrounded by a game fence ensuring safety from animals. KUDU BUSH CAMP – RUSTIC AMBIANCE

A rustic camp situated a stone throw away from the banks of the Harts River, although rustic, this camp has all the comforts of home and an ambiance of traditional family hunts. The camp consists of six rooms, a kitchen, central lapa and a communal ablution facility. The rooms all have 2 beds, the rooms are large, allowing for the addition of extra beds should they be required, all linen is provided as well as extra blankets for cold evenings. The kitchen has a fridge, deep freezer, stove as well as all the cutlery and crockery for 12 guests. (extra can be arranged), all appliances are electrical. The ablution facility, although communal are separate for men and women consisting of a bath, shower and toilet for ladies all separately accommodated and for the men 2 showers and 2 toilets.

The central lapa is enclosed with braai / barbeque and dining area under cover. Vehicles are safe in covered parking for 4 vehicles. The camp is surrounded by a game fence ensuring safety from animals.

Dessert : Ice cream, cream, fruit salad and chocolate sauce : Coffee or tea, There will be a fruit Bowl with seasonal fruit on your arrival. Rules and Regulations 1. Not more than 3 people on a bakkie. 2. No alcohol consumed while hunting. 3. No intoxicated people allowed on bakkie. 4. No cigarettes/plastic/any other material may be dropped in the veld. 5. Please pick up any plastic/materials whilst in veld. 6. Report any broken/damaged fences. Report any buck carcasses or wounded animals, whilst in veld. 7. "Gun is safe" means no cartridge in chamber while driving on the bakkie. Safety of weapon is not

regarded as "gun is safe". There is enough time afforded the hunter to put a cartridge in barrel, aim and shoot.

8. "Walk and Stalk" is the primary hunting preference of Apache Hunts. Please have the correct apparel. Is very cold in the winter months. Make proper apparel choices.

9. Please communicate any medical conditions to Apache Hunts in writing on the booking form. 10. No fires to be made in the veld. 11. Cellphone reception in good and the main communication method. 12. Hunting starts at 1st light. Be ready to depart at that time. 13. The full outstanding amount is payable as per the price list after deducting the deposit in cash

or via eft, before departure. No discounts can be negotiated with the PH. The PH is not authorized to load the hunted game, before payment in full has been received. We do not have credit card facilities.

14. If the guests do not abide/conform to the rules and regulations of Apache Hunts, the PH has the discretion to stop any further hunting and ask the guests to leave the farm. No refund of the deposit will be forthcoming in such instances.

15. Please obtain your game transport permit from PH before leaving the farm. 16. Make sure your rifle and scope are properly shot in, before arriving on farm. We have a shooting

range and all hunters are obliged to shoot a few shots to make sure the rifle and scope is still properly aligned.

17. Although we have plenty game available, game does not always present themselves depending on various factors. Therefore we always suggest that the hunters shoots which game present themselves at that time. A hunter who only wants to shoot a specific antelope is sometimes disappointed.

18. The PH will instruct the hunter, which specific animal to shoot. The PH has his instructions on what to shoot so ensure a healthy breeding herd is kept to produce future progeny.

19. Apache Hunts is obligated, after a buck is shot, to: a. retrieve the buck b. take the buck to the slaughter facility. c. take out the intestines-entrails. d. remove the skin. e. remove the head. f. the liver and kidneys are available for the client to take if they so choose. g. the horns are available for the client to take if they so choose. h. the skin is available for the client to take if they so choose. i. we will cut the carcass in easy transportable cuts.

20. Apache Hunts does not make biltong/wors or cape animal skins, except with prior arrangement at an additional cost.

21. The decision of PH is final if a buck was wounded. Full price will be charged on all wounded animals, even if not retrieved. It is the policy of Apache Hunts to look for the wounded animal. The specific hunter responsible for the shot is obliged to accompany the tracker in this retrieval process.

22. Gratuities for the trackers and skinners are appreciated paid to the PH, who will distribute it accordingly.

23. Multiple missed shots will be charged at R150.00 per shot at the discretion of the PH. 24. All breakages and shortages are for the hunters account. 25. Arrival 14h00 and departure at 10h00 unless prior arrangement with PH. 26. No pets unless prior arrangement with PH. 27. Any person entering the premises does so at their own risk. We accept no responsibility for any

injury, death or loss of valuables. Terms and Conditions • A deposit comprising of the full accommodation rate is payable to confirm the safari. • The balance i.e. game hunted and any extras is payable prior to leaving the hunting farm. NO

ANIMALS WILL LEAVE THE FARM BEFORE FULL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED. • Any cancellation 1 month prior to the safari a 80% refund will be reimbursed and less than one month

On request: Sable, Nyala, Waterbuck and others on list as mentioned under POR. Varmint hunting: Jackal, caracal, porcupine and hare. Hunting distance: 100m bush thickets / 200m plains Fishing: Harts River offers carp, yellow fish, mud fish and catfish. We can provide rods,

reels and equipment if necessary, preferred baits mealies and brown bread. Fly fishing is excellent as the river is un-fished. Spitskop dam is 12km from the lodge and day trips can be arranged.

Wing shooting: 410 or 12 bore preferred shot depending on what you wish to shoot. Anything

from No. 7 to AAA, game birds available, spur-wing geese, Egyptian geese, yellow billed duck, guinea Faul, francolin, rock pigeon, and doves. Children with pellet gun welcome provided they are supervised.

Shooting range: 100m shooting range from a bench rest. This range may be used at any time

provided PH is notified so area is closed and safety precautions are in place. Ear and eye protection is obligatory. Targets are provided.

Hiking: Due to the diverse terrain and river, many non-hunters opt for a quiet walk to

observe birds and wildlife. PH must be notified to ensure area is safe and no-one is hunting in that area.

Kayaking: 17km of river provides ample opportunity to enjoy a drift down the river. We have

one Kayak so please bring your own. The flow of the river is regulated by Spitskop Dam and always has water, shallow in certain places, means portages. None of these are in excess of 50m. Water is cold in winter, therefore we advise a wet suit in winter.
