SOURCES OF ELECTRICITY

THERMAL POWER PLANTS Thermal power plants (TPP) running on fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas, shale, peat), are today the main type used in the Russian energy producers.Selecting placements thermal power is determined mainly by the presence in the area of natural resources and fuel. Powerful built thermal power plants, as a rule, in place of extraction of fuel resources, or close to major centers of oil refining industry. Thermal power plants, which are used as fuel local fuels (oil shale, peat, low calorie and mnogozolnye coal), try to place according to the energy needs and, at the same time, taking into account the availability of the different types of fuel resources.Power plants operating on a high-calorie fuel delivery to the place of which is economically viable, placed usually based on consumer demand for electricity.

HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANTS

Hydroelectric power plants are special structures erected to cover large areas of the rivers and dam using the energy of falling water to turn turbines generator. This method of generating electricity is the most eco-friendly, as does without burning of various fuels and leaves no harmful waste behind.

NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS

Nuclear power plants (NPPs) are different from the heat only that, if a TPP to heat water and produce steam using combustible fuel, the plant source of water heating energy is the heat generated in the process of nuclear reaction.

Currently, most of the global total energy yield thermal power, power which can be hundreds of thousands and millions of kilowatts. For joint and coordinated the production of various types of power plants are combined in a power system. Combining power and energy systems themselves together to reduce the cost of power and ensures uninterrupted power supply mode of the consumer. The reason is that the production and consumption of electricity occur simultaneously, and it is impossible to accumulate all the energy generated in any form. Therefore, power plants are required to have a certain reserve on the operating capacity needed in order to be able at any time to meet the increased demand for electricity by the consumer (for increased load). A value of consumption (energy demand) can fluctuate dramatically when changing modes and conditions of consumers.
