DWF DISBURSES FUNDS The DWF, with the support of the entire congregation of First

Christian Church, raised a lot of money at the Fund Raisers held

in the last year! At our January Executive Board Meeting we

worked together making decisions as to disbursement of the

funds in a way that they would make an impact in our

community and church.

The following are the recipients of our funds:

$225.00 Quad City Interfaith is a coalition of

congregations and community groups that have come

together to build local leadership and address issues in the

Quad Cities region of Iowa and Illinois.

$225.00 River Bend Food Bank collects wholesome

donations of food for distribution to more than 300

charitable community organizations that support the hungry

in Eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

$225.00 PUNCH or People Uniting Neighbors and

Churches consists of seven churches that have come together

to see what concerns and needs are in the neighborhoods of

these churches and determine how local churches can help

and be of service to their neighbors.

$225.00 Hope at the Brick House gives hope to

individuals and families through spiritual, educational and

community based support.

These organizations are all non-profit and our church is in-

volved in each of them in some way.

$1437.00 Disciple Mission Fund is the common fund of

the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) supports 72

ministries that includes our congregation and reaches around

the globe.

$2,000.00 First Christian Church General Fund is the

fund that pays for the operation, salaries and outreach of our

church.

It is with a great deal of pride that the DWF is able to make

donations to these organizations.

Respectfully Submitted by

Laura McClurg, DWF President

Dear Church family,

THANK YOU to all

who helped with the church

play this year. I pray I don't

forget anyone; but here goes:

A special thank you to our

cast members: Gracie, Kyleigh, Chloe (our wise women), Lee

(Joseph and Herod's attendant), Hannah (Narrator), Jaz

(our angel), Jax (Herod and our sound man when we first

started practicing), Mason (Narrator and Shepherd), Cash,

Liam (our two other shepherds), Genevieve (Mary) and

Isabella (narrator). These kids had three practices in

November, two in December and one in January; plus some

were late or missed some because of learning to swim,

sleepovers, birthdays, and being sick. Hannah asked me

Sunday: "Dick you always cry at the end, did you cry this

year?" My answer: "When the narrators read One Solitary

Life and I saw everyone kneeling, yes." Note for you kids,

one adult said to me "I think this was the best one you have

ever put on." Kids thank you again for all your work and

putting up with me, I love you very much.

And now a special thank you to all our support

people and again I pray I don't forget anyone. Thank you to

Don, who stepped in at the last minute to run our sound,

Chad, who came in on a Saturday to figure out our sound

needs in early December, and Cindy who helped in many

different ways but especially Sunday when she turned off

the sound playing "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like

Christmas" loudly while we were trying to get in one more

rehearsal. Thank you to our heavenly choir Sandy, Kay Ann,

Nancy, Laura, Pastor Linda, and Jan Holmes (she practiced

but missed Sunday). You all added a lot to our play and I

know several were under a lot of stress during this time.

And thank you to our Susan who provides music and

sound effects and answered any requests with "No

problem." Thank you to Lisa who taught our kids to sign

the carol, "Away In A Manger" and gave many good

suggestions. Thank you to Michelle who helped me clean up

and put away costumes and props. And finally thank you to

Carol for helping in so many ways through all the planning

and work to put on this play this year.
