Introducing Sottile [sō-tee-lay] 2D, a new fully luminous architectural recessed luminaire by Nulite. This cost effective, energy effi cient luminaire series provides soft ambient illumination with a modern appearance.

The crisp transitions between our three lenses creates a clean aesthetic and modern appearance. Our optical system consists of proprietary lenses which are engineered for bal-ance between light transmission and shielding of the lamp source along with housing geometry to achieve a cohesive soft luminous quality.

Nulite offers a multitude of center diffuser options tailored tomodern design. Our standard center diffuser is an extruded smooth frosted acrylic lens. Optional center lenses are the clear linear prism, clear linear prism with white radial baffl e, frosted linear prism and clear smooth with perforated overlay.

Lamp and ballast access via spring tension shift-n-remove center lens

Gently grasp the center lens by the sides and shift to one end.

Pull the exposed end down. Remove the lens once the lip clears the housing. Optional lens retainer clip to support lens during maintenance.

A larger luminous aperture is achieved when designing without a door frame. There’s a 9% increase in aperture area with Sottile 2D compared

to a door frame luminaire.

Shift-n-remove center lens for quick maintenance. Standard lens is smooth frosted acrylic. Optional lenses are clear linear prism, clear linear prism with white radial baffl e, frosted linear prism or clear smooth with round perf overlay.

The extruded smooth frosted acrylic side diffusers provide a soft comfortable luminous aesthetic. Lenses can shift for cleaning and maintenance.

Die formed cold rolled steel housing. Optional, specifi -cation grade, 20 gauge cold rolled steel housing painted after fabrication. Curved back housing allows for easier installation in reduced plenum applications. Luminaire can be installed in a minimum plenum depth of 6.5 inches above the grid.

Beveled ends secure the lenses, add dimension and accent the curvature of the profi le.

Integral corner pry out grid hooks to secure luminaire over ceiling grid. Convenient four corner tie-back loca-tions to secure luminaire to structure by others. Seismic clips are available as an option.

Nulite’s Sottile 2D ranges in size from nominal 1’x1’ to 2’x4’ in a variety of lamping options. Luminaires can be recessed in acoustical grid or inaccessible ceilings along with surface mounting in a trim frame.

Our optical systems consist of a combination of proprietary lenses and housing designs to achieve a cohesive soft luminous aperture. The linear prism lenses are designed to increase effi ciency and peak candlepower.

Our High Performance Option (HP28) is available for (2) 28W T5 lamping in our 2’x4’ for all lens options. This option gains approximately 2% in effi ciency to maximize energy savings.

Construction: Die formed cold rolled steel housing. Housing fi nish is white baked enamel. Optional die formed 20 gauge cold rolled steel housing and powder coated white paint after fabrication. Access plate allows for convenient wiring without opening luminaire.

Refl ector / Ballast: Ballast cover/pan is fi nished with high refl ec-tance white paint. Standard electronic, Class P, ballast. Universal (UNV) voltage is from 120 to 277V.

Shielding: Extruded 3-piece smooth frosted acrylic diffusers. Spring tension shift-and-remove center diffuser for convenient lamp main-tenance. Optional center diffusers: clear linear prism, clear linear prism with internal radial white baffl e, frosted linear prism and clear smooth with round perf overlay.

Lamping: 1’ wide unit: 1 or 2 lamp cross-section except 1 lamp only for 1x1 housing. 2’ wide unit: 1, 2 or 3 lamp cross-section of T5, T5HO or T8; 1 or 2 lamp cross-section for long twin tube fl uorescent in 2x2 housing only. Luminaire can be ordered with lamps, consult factory.
