Waking up is not easy

Against all my body’s objections I sit up

I stare and think of all the reasons why I am excited to be back in school

I suddenly find myself on the subway

A DOOR IS OPENED

I am in school, trying to forget the fears

I get nervous speaking in front of peoplebut when it is a subject I like - I can’t stop.

Now I am getting used to the idea that I am learning

to be a professional in a field I love
