Passing grade to earn credits = D or higher

You need C’s or better both semesters of IM1 to move on to IM2
If you get a D/F BOTH semesters of IM1, you have to take IM1 again
If you get D/F ONE semester, and a C or better in the other, you need to go to Summer School to move on to IM2
INTERVENTION: 3 DAYS REVIEW+ RETEST = IMPROVE YOUR GRADE
FREE afterschool tutoring available for all math classes
DID YOU KNOW
You need at least B’s in Earth Science and C’s in IM1 to go to Biology
You need C’s or better in IM1 and Biology to take Chemistry
You need C’s or better to move on in Spanish, French, Mandarin
You need a C average or better (2.0 or above) to participate in MHS Athletics and Activities
ALL grades go on your transcript, even if you get a D/F and repeat the course, colleges will still see the D or F
“What if I get an F?”
■ F’s = FAIL = 0 credits REPEAT THE COURSE
= Summer School (2 hours per class)= Credit Recovery 0, 7, 8 periods= Don’t get to take next course in sequence (math, science, language)= Many F’s could mean “Alternative Placement” (i.e. Somerset Continuation School)

classwork/HW)

B’s on tests ? (e.g., Study 1 hour/day for tests –
make flashcards, complete study guides, get
help from teacher at lunch 2x a week)
4. Short Term 3, 2, 1: What can you do day-to-day
to keep your grade up? (e.g., take good notes,
do all classwork/HW in class, keep all work
organized in binder, go to tutoring)
5. Start: What can be your first step? (e.g, get to
school at 7:15 every day, buy a notebook, ask
to move my seat, organize backpack, turn off
phone when studying)

Click on “Students” tab
Click on NAVIANCE
Click on NAVIANCE LOG-IN
Enter Username and Password (same as District Log-on)
2. Click on about me tab
Click on goals
At top go to “add new goal” and select Academic Goal HS from pulldown menu
Fill in your START GOAL and answer questions
